Here at Mix-Ability we love it when you step all over us! LOL Really this is a place of stepping stones into the world of mixed media creating a fun approachable challenge where you'll be able to say, "I CAN do it!"
Today it's time to grab a commonly tossed paper scrap and reuse it. Find die cut remnants from your recycle bin and use them in one of the following ways;
- Stencil color on your project,
OR
- Create a window with the die cut allowing your coloring to show through the opening(s) of the die cut.
I started playing with some dies and a 6x6" piece of chipboard earlier, and made a stencil by cutting out different sized hearts with dies - added a few layers of stenciled hearts by sponging through the openings... added some stamping, then used the cut out hearts to mask and inked over all the layers. I haven't completed a project with the panel yet, but it's kinda fun... I'll just share it here....! Just another idea to get your wheels turning.
This sounds interesting. I often use my negatives as stencils so I think I'll try to come up with an idea using option two.
But I just emptied my paper bin for the recycling collection the other day , I might have to bend the rules and actually cut a fresh negative!
OK - it was fun, and I enjoyed messing around. It will make a good guy card but I don't know if I like the end result that much. I did find a scrap negative in my bin, but it wasn't an easy colour to work with. I hope to try again with a chosen die rather than what was in the bin ;).
Thank you for the fun challenge.
Now to go look at all the others! These challenges are SO MUCH FUN! And I learn so much looking at what everyone else does!

Love the Mix-ability challenges as it gets me to try new techniques and use my sprays and Distress supplies more than I usually do. Here's my card for this challenge:
Well, here it is. I found this frame in my scraps and I have to confess I do not remember how I got the color.???????? Maybe I misted the black.. Just thought of that..
