HUGE thanks to Lydia who filled in for me last week. I loved browsing the AMAZING gallery that you were able to create together! I've missed you all so much that this week we are having a 2-in-1 Inspiration Challenge: 2 Challenges in 1! You can take both challenges - or just pick your favorite and have loads of fun!
Challenge #1 - Select any picture, or journal, on the Seaweed Kisses site, and create something brand new, totally unique, and reflecting your own personal style using it as your inspiration.Extra super duper bonus points for creating a 'journal-like' design this week!
AND / OR
Challenge #2 - Not into journals and writing? Then take the challenge of stamping on any kind of project, which is NOT a card! Criteria for challenge #2: A. your project must include 'stamping' (either rubber stamps, clear stamps, or postage stamps), and B. your project must not be a greeting card! (I know, I know, this second option will take you way out of your comfort zone for sure, but fish out of water eat some seaweed!-LOL)
Challenge Goals:
Please try and take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on the images you browse on the inspiration site. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today. If you just want to share a project you made prior to the challenge because it fits well with the theme, that's great too. (In that case, please indicate that in the description and it's perfectly normal not to have a link to an inspiration piece.) Remember that your card might also end up on my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board, especially if it shows signs of extra deep inspiration (your card would need a link to the inspiration selected from the site, and it must have been created since the start of the challenge to qualify for the genius board).
Use the keyword: IC539 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
Audrie- glad you are here! Awesome site! I used "tabs" and did some goal oriented journaling, and added some texture with a woven twine border for my a little bit of everything card- inspired by my trip to Portland, Oregon. Here's Enjoy every day beauty

This challenge was definitely out of my comfort zone. But as I was looking through the Seaweed Kisses blog, I came up with an idea. Bonus points for me -- it's not a card! Here is my project:
That blog is a total rabbit hole... So, what is she doing with these packets making like "stuff" hmmm, bits and pieces that can be used on something else? ( planner pages or what ever) and mailing them away in bundles?
I think until I figure that part out my brain is not going to let me play.
I nearly didn't do this challenge (as it was too challenging!) but browsed around the site and found an entry about a journal made by someone traveling in Washington and British Columbia (where I live) and it immediately made me think of a stamp I have, so here's my card:
So, I still have not figured this out not really but, I stamped and scribbled on some envelopes have not made any "stuffing" for the inside of them yet...
I am one too who almost didn't do this challenge, but then I saw some of the sketchbook posts on the website and realized that I must be "journaling" and not even know it. Who knew!!
One of the posts (here) had where the artist had her palettes and ideas jotted down which is what I do so I could finally relate and be inspired by the challenge website.
I shared what I played around with in one of my sketchbooks yesterday.
I'm sure many of us "journal" and we don't even realize it. Some do it with stickers, others with more words, some with doodled, drawn, or stamped images, and some (like me) do it with all the above! It's simply a way of processing thoughts, and relaxing the mind. What comes out is often quite spectacular as you can see from the journals on that site.
I love what you did - and since you had fun doing it - it meets the criteria!
Hugs,
Audrie

However, I received a wonderful Easter gift from my granddaughter, a nice cold virus, I'm done with headaches, sore throat, and very tired. It's going through the family! Will be back later in the week when I'm better!!
I'm late, but I wanted to participate in Audrie's inspiration challenge, IC539 - Seaweed Kisses. What a challenge you gave us, Audrie; however it was fun!! Thank you!! I always look forward to your Inspiration Challenges.

Interesting inspiration site. I don't know if I ever quite "got" her blog style but I did find several entries/pics that inspired me. And that was the point. I do like the "fun" blog name "Seaweed Kisses."
