Default Avery Elle Storage and MFT Stamps

I recently switched from the SU DVD cases to the Avery Elle storage pockets. I purchased my first MFT stamps and they are longer and will not fit in the Avery Elle system without great alteration. Any suggestions for storing them that keeps them similar to my other storage? I'm OCD about storage.

Are you sure you're not CDO (same as OCD, but put them in alphabetical order, please...)? Just kidding! I have a "thing" about all of my stamps being in one consistent type/size of storage, too. NONE of my stamps are on their original carrier sheets. They are on all-the-same-size of laminated cardstock in all-the-same-size storage pockets, and if a stamp set is larger than will fit on one sheet, I put it on two. That is, for sets that are still sets - most of my stamps are broken into categories...

I chop them in half! Here's an example with a larger Waltzingmouse set: https://www.instagram.com/p/BC8xpumCYYB/

Just watched your solution. Might I say it is totally brilliant? Well it is!!!

Captain Obvious (that would be me!) never even considered using the back side of the stamp carrier sheet. Duh!!! So glad that YOU did! And also that you shared this idea with us.

I have a couple of stamp sets that I set aside because I couldn't figure out how to logically make them fit my standard Avery Elle pocket. Fortunately procrastination worked in my favor this time! Thanks for the tidy solution to this pesky "too large to fit" problem!

Sue,
Do you use the laminated card stock instead of something like the Duralar sheets. What do you use for the storage pockets - the avery elle? Do you have a photo somehwere here I could search for

Yes, I use laminated cardstock instead of Duralar. I cannibalize cheap photo albums and use the photo sleeves instead of the Avery Elle or similar. I started doing this before I was even aware of the Avery Elle, and saw no reason to start over, kwim? I have a blog post about how I store most of my stuff from last year about this time. It's long, and some things have changed, but the part about how I store my stamps is down towards the end of THIS POST...

I also use the laminated cardstock to mount my stamps to...and an index sheet to make it super-duper easy to see what's in each pouch.

Why?

Among the reasons I do this is this one: Some clear carrier sheets with the image printed on them are NOT safe for long term storage of stamps. They might be acetate, or they might be some other plastic, but I've heard way too many stories of people's clear stamps turning to mush, or adhering permanently to the carrier sheet.

Just make sure your laminating pouches are safe plastic.

Just wanted to pop back in and say that Diane (fionna51) is the reason that I do what I do - my system is based on hers (that little enabler...;))
