Default Cheery Lynn Ribbon Dies

I have done some looking around for these. It seems like a great idea to me because I don't want to purchase matching paper and ribbons.

I googled this on Pinterest, I did a search on YouTube. The only place I see them being used on cards is Gina K TV on YouTube.

Have you purchased these? Do they cut well? Are you getting good use out of them? Any regrets?

Thanks for your input. They are expensive and I want to hear more about them before I drop that kind of cash.

I don't have them, but they've gotten 11 5-star & 1 2-star reviews at 123-Stitch (they're cheaper there than at Cheery Lynn or Amazon).

1 5-star & 1-2-star at Dies-r-Us.
2 5-stars at Inspiration Station.
And 5 5-stars at Cheery Lynn.

I couldn't find any other reviews! They look very interesting. I think you'd probably need to use a metal shim with them.

Thanks for looking at the reviews. I read them all, but usually toss the reviews from the mfger. I didn't see any reviews on Amazon either.

I've never heard of them before until they popped up at 123 Stitch, which I surf/shop all the time. Then it struck me how great they would be. But I've seen a couple of reviews that say they don't give a clean cut. When I watched the GinaK videos, she was constantly fussing with them to get all the chits out and get a good cut on them also. That's really my concern is getting a decent cut from the dies.

Thanks for looking into it for me. I'm surprised how few of them are for sale now. I think they came out in 2015.

Check with Ecstasy Crafts. They carried a large inventory of Cheery Lynn and some of the dies were on for 50% off.

Those dies look so cool! And I noticed that 123 Stitch offers a 30 day money-back guarantee

If you are talking about the die I think you are, I do have it and I've used it on this card. It cuts great in my Grand Calibur cutting machine. I love all the different styles of "ribbon" and I mixed and matched several of them on the card. You can read more about it in my blog post here:

Glitter, Stamps, and Ink (Oh My...): Tilted Hugs

Hope this helps!

These dies are a really nice idea to me. I am not finding them on sale any where though.

Guess they must have come out before 2013. No wonder there aren't many around.

I love them and use them all the time. They cut easily in my Big shot. I do have the precision plate but don't always use it for them.

I purchase from 123 often and have always received excellent service. Their prices are good and their shipping rates are very reasonable.

Default LOVE THESE DIES!!!

Janet, Melissa thinks I'm an enabler! I ordered these from 123-Stitch on the 24th and they came yesterday. I sell a lot of my cards, and my customers like a lot of details and embellishments on them; I don't care for ribbon and hoped this would make a great replacement.

I love these dies. They cut like a dream! I have a metal shim, and didn't have to use it. I cut some 65# (lavender) and 110# (white) cardstock - no problems with either. Also I read a tip this week about rubbing your diecut across a pencil to help release the chads that you usually have to poke out. Worked like a charm! The piece on the right looks crooked, but I didn't take the time to rub it the opposite way so it would straighten out.

I'm just imagining all the possibilities and color combinations. They will be super easy to line up to make longer cuts: adorable on packages, scrapbook pages, etc. Cute to decorate the inside of your card or the envelope.

This is one die I can imagine cutting multiples of - mindless work - and then having a variety of mix & match possibilities. Or cut all white and use inkpads or Copics to color them. Velvet paper, anyone?

Oh Linda, I consider you an enabler extraordinaire! I think you might have achieved Southern notoriety for your ability to motivate us mere mortals to hunt for the dies and stamps you use on your cards. I did that myself this morning… :-)

I bought the dies. They sat in my cart for days, but I couldn’t resist your siren calls. LOL

Nice pics of the ribbons. You use the same color combo as other demos of these dies.

On the side... you know that velvet ribbon that all the Christmas bows are made out of - the really velvet red stuff? I got a big reel of that velvet thick ribbon for bows - but die cut things out of it. The hearts are wonderful, background Spellbinder dies work on this stuff - and these ribbon dies would be wonderful on this stuff. This terrible ribbon die cuts wonderfully! Love this red velvet stuff now.

Only southern? And here I thought it would be national by now.

I actually had some velvet paper from a K & Co scrapbook kit. I used it in a wedding scrapbook for my son & DIL. These dies would have been gorgeous cut out of that. I didn't think of the red velvet ribbon - that would be gorgeous!

I should have asked 123Stitch for a discount code for all of us when I started this thread. I bet they sell out of inventory...

I'm having fun with them. I do have to shim, and I back them with a new dryer sheet to help with all the tiny pieces.

I also like the tiny strips that come out of between the ribbon strips. That is small enough to add just a little something onto the sentiment panel. Glad I bought this.

Much faster than they said they would. They said end of April. Then it felt like they arrived 1 week after that notice. I love 123Stitch.

I'm reviving this thread to see how many of us who were so excited to get these ribbon dies have actually used them.

Me? Not.Even.Once.

I used mine a lot. Still do. Usually use them more than going for ribbon. I got my money out of them. About the only thing I got my money out of though. There are a ton of stamps and dies that I haven't even unrapped...
