I use a variety of internet search engines to find stuff, but I must admit that "Google" has become more than just a search engine to me. It's a fabulous "start-up" success story, and even a recognized "verb". ("Google" is defined as "search for information about someone or something on the Internet using the search engine Google). In doing further research on Google Secrets (I'm geeky enough to enjoy stuff like that-LOL).... I ran across the Google doodles gallery and instantly decided that this wealth of artistic genius would be great for our inspiration challenge this week! Even if you're not a Google fan, I'm sure you'll appreciate how fun and creative all the Google doodles really are! So this week I challenge you to be inspired by a doodle, or two to create your own brand new work of paper art! Super duper extra points if you can spell "Google" in your design in some way! If you don't want to scroll down forever to see all the logos, try searching instead (top right of the doodle gallery). You can search for a famous person you love, or even for a holiday anywhere in the world, to see what comes up! WOW!
Here's a small part of the Google doodle story...I find that this message really aligns well with the goals of our "inspiration" challenge because the "Doodlers" all work from some type of inspiration (people, holidays, themes). With the inspiration in mind they always create something universally unique - yet (this is what I love) you can clearly understand their inspiration in the final design! True Inspiration Genius!
Challenge Goals: Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the site reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. :cool: So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on the images you browse this week. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by the Google doodles website. Remember that your card might also end up on my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board, especially if it shows signs of extra deep inspiration (your card would need a link to the inspiration selected from the site, and it must have been created since the start of the challenge to qualify for the genius board). FYI: Google has been alerted about this challenge on splitcoaststampers...so who knows, you might even be noticed by a real doodler!
How to Get Hyperlinks: When looking through the gallery click on the thumbnail images to open the logo/artwork in the full information page. You will be able to copy the URL (website address) from the top of the information page, then just paste it into your project or card description. Platform Specific Tips: If you have a PC, you can also right-click on thumbnails and then select "Copy Link". If you are on a mobile device like an iPad, hold your finger down on the thumbnail for a few seconds, then a menu will pop up so you can copy the link.
Use the keyword: IC537 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.

Have I lost my marbles or aren't we suppose to be on IC537 and not IC527? I looked and last week was IC536... does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for the Google doodles inspiration site today, Audrie! It took a while before I found something that spoke to me, and then I found a second and had trouble deciding which way to go. I finally made my decision and created this oriole card.

I'm glad you noticed that Jan...I believe it should be IC537..but it's mislabeled on the original post. Audrie can you fix that and perhaps move ones that may be sitting out there in the IC527 gallery!!
A few friends of the IC were emailing and private messaging me that the title said IC527, thank you so much! I've edited it to match the keywords in the body. Thanks so much for catching this! If you used 527 in your keywords, please replace it with 537 when you get some time. I will be online right after work (around noon pacific time) but you gals have already uploaded beautiful designs! You never fail to amaze me!

here is one from me... ( tis simple... and no google..)
funny true story, my gpa who is in his mid 80's informed my aunt ( who he lives with) that she could "just google it" in a really snotty voice maybe a year or so ago... so, those are poking (snarky) giggle fighting words in my mom's family now... just google it... ( said in the most sarcastic voice you can master right?) So, when have more time to think of a way to wiggle in a "google" I am going to make some more later hahahaha...
