Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #395
What's a Farm Without a Rooster? Asleep!!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Ever since they were little girls, Meggy and Peggy have always wanted to get back to the farm and carry on the family tradition. It's taken awhile to get there but finally they are headed back to the farm and they are sooooo excited. Gramps and Granny left the whole thing in their hands and they have moved off to a retirement home where someone else will do the lawn, the cooking, the housecleaning, snow shoveling etc. They are looking forward to a little much deserved rest.
2: For the last several yrs, Gramps and Granny haven't kept any livestock, trying to keep the chores to a minimum, so Meggy and Peggy have been busy buying livestock, feed, bedding, and supplies to get started in the farming biz. They have decided to start small with small livestock and see how that goes. So they have goats, chickens, some ducks, and a few turkeys. This should do nicely for starters they think. Esp. as they are going to focus on organic grown vegetables mostly, along with the fruit trees that are already there. They figure that should keep them plenty busy for the first couple years.
3: So moving day has come and gone, they have the basics unpacked and are sitting on the back stoop with a glass of wine to toast their new venture. All is well, until the next morning that is. As they head out to the barn to milk the goats, they aren't anywhere near the barn. The chickens don't seem to be up and about yet either. And come to think of it, they didn't hear the rooster crow this am! RUT ROH!!!!
4: Where is the rooster? Did they forget to make sure they bought a couple roosters? It looks like it. Teapotters, they need our help and FAST!!
Challenge Translation:
Roosters! we need roosters. Small ones, big ones, any rooster as long as they can keep things going on course.
