I have had a great time hosting the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015. I have had requests to continue this for 2016, and I am more than happy to do so.
This is an opportunity for you to memorize ** Scripture each month. And to help you do so, you make any kind of paper project, with the Scripture as the focus, such as: Album pages, bookmarks, cards, calendar pages, and anything else that works for you.
I have been making a 6x6 Album for each year, with a month for each page. Then I have can keep going through them to refresh my memory on the Scriptures I have memorized, so as to keep them in my mind. I put each current month in a stand where I can see it often, then add it to my album each month.
There are a lot of great scripture stamps out there, but if you don't have any, don't let that stop you. You can print scriptures from your computer! This challenge is a great tool to help you with memorizing & meditating on God's Word. You can join anytime and I hope you will. The guidelines are simple:
1. Must have a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated on your project.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery with the scripture reference as your project title (i.e. BVC16 - John 1:14)
3. Be sure to then post in this thread what Month you have uploaded and provide a link to your project in this thread. That way we can see what each other has done, and encourage one another with comments in the Gallery. You might even be inspired to use one of the Scriptures you see as a future choice for yourself.
4. Be sure to put BVC16 as a Keyword when you Upload. This is the Bible Verse Challenge keyword: BVC16 (same keyword all year). While I do appreciate all kinds of inspirational messages, poems and quotes, for the purpose of this challenge, please respect the scripture reference guideline. Do not use this keyword if you have not used a Biblical scripture on your project.
5. No vendor restrictions.
6. The goal will be to post one project for each month of 2016. Try to post it no later than the end of each month (but you can still post later than that, too).
I look forward to seeing all the great projects in the BVC16 gallery! Please feel free to PM me if you you have any questions!
I will post a link to the BVC16 Gallery once we have something in there..
I pray this blesses each of you, as it does me, each month.
Blessings,
LM
** The intent of the the challenge is to combine our love of scripture and our love of stamping. The goal is also to work on memorizing. I understand that not all are able to memorize, and I would never tell anyone that they cannot participate if they cannot get their posted verses memorized.
I put a box in the foyer and people love picking out cards. I don't charge, which they love even more! But last week a woman gave my DH a $10 to give me for supplies! How sweet was that?
Having second thoughts on what I'm doing this year. I just remembered I have two brand new 6x6 albums I didn't know what to do with! I could choose a new theme for this year. Last year was thanks. Any suggestions for this Years theme?

What about love or peace? I know that you like to use stamps and quite a few of our stamps would have something that could portray either of those themes:-)
Thanks, Julie! I was thinking of love too, so I guess I'll go with that. There are surely tons of verses on that subject, since that was why he died for us...tremendous love!
Yes, Love would be great theme, especially with the gorgeous Blooming Love Bundle. I am trying to wait until January to order it, but I may get it this month to get month so I can get an early start on my Valentine Cards. :-) LM

Welcome Back to Muscrat, Julie, Smadson, YellowRose46 & SewBusyMom…So glad you all are going to be part of our Bible Verse Challenge again this coming year.
I just printed off some of the verses I'm going to be using these first couple of months. I've decided to go with my original idea of making cards for church. And my first verse with the theme of love is going to be John 3:16 of course!
Kathy, that sounds great and what a wonderful surprise for someone to give toward your supplies! The Lord is so faithful and is blessing your ministry for sure :-)
since my theme is love, I made this piece to hang in my craft room. It is 1st Corinthians 13. the whole chapter of love. I'm not counting it as one of my monthly challenges. It was too big to make into a card but I wanted to get the entire chapter in.
Here is my card for January. I already know and claim this verse! Delight in the Lord.
I didn't pick a theme for whole year. Love your wall hanging Kathy.
I know what you mean about the passage being too large for a card. I have memorized chunks of verses and wondered how to do them. I am still thinking how I will do them.
You can always choose just a verse or two from a memorized section of Scripture. :-) LM

Here is a card for this challenge because we are learning several verses for our Hall of Faith Bible study. David Jeremiah's Hevrews vol 3
This is right down your alley, for your theme, Kathy!
Hi Everyone:
I'm back on SCS after somewhat of a hiatus or lesser involvement due to a couple of chaotic years. This looks like a great challenge to help me memorize and focus on the Word even more. I look forward to doing this. Love the 6x6 album idea too. I'm hosting a Monthly Scripture Sister Swap also (in signature) if anyone would like to join that as well.
Look forward to the inspiration!
Here is my page for February. Yes, I know, I have not done January yet, but this verse has been on my mind so I made this for February. I will do January next week:
Welcome, Susan....Can't wait to see your monthly projects showcasing your Scripture Verses. :-) LM

Karen, this is so pretty!! Love the verse, your coloring and the gingham- great job!
LMstamps,
The Our Daily Bread set with the anchor is called "Anchor". The verse and the anchor I used are both in the set. Also in it is what I put on the inside.
"If you fear, put all your trust in God....
...that anchor holds." Another stamp in the set is Sometimes the Lord rides out the storm with us... Other times He calms the restless sea around us. Lloyd John Ogilvie
