I've noticed a rise in the number of posts that use BIG fonts and fun COLORS!
I'm not saying this to be mean, but when a post has lots of different colors and big words, it is *really* hard to read.
I love all of you on SCS and I hate to close a post just because I can't read the post without getting a migraine!
I'm sure some of you will disagree with me, but I just had to say it... so if you use the big fonts, fun colors, etc... can you *please* use them sparingly! It's not so bad to make a word or two big, but the every-single-word thing is soooo hard on my brain!
Thank you for at least reading this and considering it!
I realized yesterday that I was reducing font size on mine, because I thought they were way too big. But when I switched back to MY COMPUTER, not my kids computer, I realized that my oldest DS had the computer FONTS all set large...because he is dyslexic. :o So, what I was thinking looked way to large while typing on the kids computer, was really a normal size, so when I reduced it, it was that TINY TINY size that you needed a magnifying glass to read....when I got to MY COMPUTER! :( SO, I am guilty and I am sorry for that! I read back and was thinking TARTAR SAUCE! HOW the HECK can anyone even read that small tiny print!:???:
i dont hate it.. teh larger font doesnt bother me really.
the only thing that bothers me is the turquoise and the yellow font.. that makes my eyes hurt.. so i just highlight the print and it changes the color to a more readable color.
I don't hate the large fonts either, but must agree with Tasha that the colors are sometimes hard to read, but I do the same thing with the highlight thing. I guess, I am used to funky fonts.
I guess I don't see it enough to bother me. What does bug me is when people don't separate paragraphs. I always lose my place.
i agree.. i would say i HATE that..
i cant read big long paragraphs.. break it up every few sentences.. use your enter key!! LOL.. that makes it easier on the eyes!
Darker colors are OK, larger fonts are OK (as long as they're not gigantic). Light colors (white, yellow, etc.) and itty-bitty fonts not OK. Too hard for me (and my contact-lensed eyes) to read.

I'm with you on those hard-to-read colors. I wish there was some way to just delete pink, yellow, turquiose and orange from the list of available colors. They're headache-inducing in any font or text size, and I don't even wear glasses!

The hardest thing for me is the flashing/jumping/wiggling things, lol. I haer problems with vertigo, and these things really can make me a little woozy!

I don't mind the bigger fonts either and didn't mind the colors at first but then I noticed I was geting headaches trying to read any posts that were turquoise. Now I just don't read them (I never thought of highlighting them before so I'l be doing that from now on!)
What bugs me tho is sig lines that are HUGE and like 10 lines long. Most ppl have finally done away w/ the really big ones but there are still several out there and they take up a whole page!! I've checked out a few other forums tho and the flashing/twinkling tons of crap in ppl's siggy lines are AWFUL so I can totally deal w/ the ones on here!

You can stop the flashing/jumping/wiggling by just hitting your escape key (Esc).
I think you all pretty well know it doesn't bother me. LOL
I try to keep my GREEN only in the chatty threads where I/we stay a lot but I do forget sometimes and carry it over to regular threads.
I apologize....They say okay.
I write like I talk and that is not good. I will over use .... and " " ,bolding and such just because I want that part to come out like I would say it.
I write in caps because that is just talking in GRANNY and not yelling. Those who know me know that. Hopefully those who don't will take the time to find out. If not....
I got a pm once telling me my green and CAPS were "getting" people busted for looking at SCS at work. I kinda don't see that one as "my" problem.
Hope you and others will still read my posts but I am pretty much gonna stay me.
Separating lines will never be a problem for you on my posts.

While we're on the subject, I've noticed a lot of people still aren't complying to the limited signature request, either: No more than 4 lines or larger than about a 3 size font, I think? (Can't remember the size rule).
I'm with those that less is more. I sometimes just skip right past those posts with the rainbow of colors in 'em. I'm colorblind and it gets *hard!* to read some of those- even DH had a hard time with them once or twice. I understand it's a cheery way to express yourself, but sometimes 10 colors is just more than necessary, yes?

I have noticed that too.

I agree on the sizes and colors--It is WAY harder to read those words that are all different colors. Caps are better as emphasis, not routine. By the way, all caps are harder to read than UC/LC (upper and lower case).
I asked in another thread about the siggy lines, and someone responded that some people just aren't getting their big ones changed. But there are LOTS of siggys out there that are new and people aren't following the rules. So, what's with that?
Personally, if a post rambles, I don't read it. So lots of words saying nothing are more likely to be ignored, as are the ones that say nothing new, just a post to up the numbers of posts.

JMHO
I completely agree! And if you're just posting to up the number of posts, why not visit the gallery and spread some sunshine by commenting on some of the neglected cards? You drive your numbers up, and give someone a little self confidence boost! Everyone's a winner!;-)

Works too. The rooster on my fence and I have been getting 100 gallery posts in the mornings before the sun is up good.

Yes, and also the really big and colorful siggy lines advertising all of their swaps and b/s/t/ threads.....
I find the massive signatures at the end of posts so distracting and messy that I set them to not display in my User Control Panel. If I really want to see what someone has in their sig, I just click on their userid next to their post and view their profile.
I find the tiny fonts not a problem because I use Firefox, so I just have to hold control while I roll the scroll wheel down and make it as large as I want. I *do* have difficulty with the large fonts, because I view my fonts huge anyhooo on my computer so big fonts stretch out my screen and make me have to scroll back an forth (which means I just generally don't read those posts).
Multi-coloured posts also not much of an issue with me because I've set my home computer to display webpages with a navy background and light grey text, and links in orange.
So I guess I do hate all the stuff mentioned in the OP, but those things don't affect me because I've customised my browser so even the most idiotic formatting gets neutralised and I don't have to put up with it.
Yeah, my bifocal-wearing eyes could use a break, too!
You're way too young and cute to have earned old age status just yet, Emily! I graduated from high school when you were three, young lady! If you're old, most of the rest of us are just plain ancient.

I'm sure there is some way to change the list.(somewhere in the HTML code.;) )
I don't like the really bright colors and the ones that are almost white at the bottom of the list like peach. could you read that? it said 'peach'.

The only time I like the white and very light colors is when someone is posting an American Idol spoiler! That way you can highlight it to read it but don't necessarily see it when skimming the thread!

This bugs me too. It takes so long to scroll through when the sig lines are massive plus it takes more space on the server.
