Hello, I am Ann aka annsforte3 and I am your new hostess for the 2016 Christmas Card Challenges.
First, lets thank Vikki Jo for all of the work she has done to help us get ready for holidays past!
Lets get Started!
Please post your monthly goal, to this thread, and post your monthly cards on each appropriate thread.
The links are in the next post!
Note: Your monthly goals are the amount of cards you need to make each month to stay ahead and avoid the rush at the end of the year!!
Information to help you through the coming year:
1. Who can join? Anyone that needs holiday cards may join the group!
2. Complete as many cards or tags as you would like each month. Set your own goals!
3. The challenges run January through November!
4. We are here to help you have a stress free holiday, so no challenges in December!
5. First thing to do is upload to your own gallery! Use CCC16 in the title and Keyword so that your cards will show up in the right gallery and that others may view them.
6. There is no deadline, work on your cards anytime during the month, we are here to motivate you!
7. Please post a reply to this thread letting me know that you want to join and list the amount of cards you wish to do during the month.
8. Remember that the monthly challenge is just for motivation, every card you do is wonderful and right for the challenge! There are no challenge police!!
9. Please use only the thread that I have started for each month or you might be missed by others trying to leave you some lovin comments!
10. If you are new to SCS start here for everything you could possibly want to know! Or just post your question and I would be happy to help!
I have the first two months set up for challenges already! Looking for ideas from everyone!! Please let me know your wonderful ideas and I can get the rest of the year set up for those who like to work ahead!
I didn't do it for 2015 and should have! I will commit to 2016. I think I will say four a month. I probably will make 4 of same card each month. We will see! Thank you Ann!
Thanks Ann and VikkiJo! I enjoyed seeing all the samples generated from a single theme. Count me in for 2016 - probably 5-7 per month should get me through. I purchased my sled dies and the ideas are percolating with the new sets I bought from SU this year! May I suggest a theme for July - my birth month? Angels are very significant in my life so I am suggesting using an angelic theme in your choice of colors for July. Of course, the birthstone is a ruby, so that color may guide my hands. Thanks for hostessing and participating in a new year! I may even be able to do close work again - cataract surgery has limited me for 2 weeks, and will continue with the 2nd eye next month. But iuf all goes well, I can align things again! Diane
Definitely count me in! I'll stick with my current commitment of four. Welcome, Ann! Vikki Jo, thanks for all the time you spent hosting this challenge.
Ann, if you are looking for themes, how about a Christmas village, house or shops decorated fort Christmas? Could include Windows and /or doors.

I'm IN
1/2 of a recipient category per month - minimum of 10 cards per month
Plus 100 gift tags for the cookie trays I deliver.
I didn't do anything this year because I did not get moved into my new studio in a timely manner. We broke ground a year ago Nov. 3. I'm still trying to get stuff moved in

Scrapbook Layouts: April: 0/4
How about "peace on earth" for April? It could be using that as a sentiment, or cards depicting doves, or a very peaceful snow scene - however you want to interpret it.

Looking forward to sticking with it more than two months like I did in 2015. Good thing I have tons of cards left over from previous years to use. Paring down the Christmas card list, so I will be back a with monthly goal after 2015 cards are sent.
oh oh oh oh waving my fluorescent curlers every where..September ...retro Christmas!!!!..retro colours..retro paper...retro ....uummmm ...lost my thought there....retro was sooooooooooo long ago for me
I'm really going to need this challenge because I just used up every card I had and still making more! Over 90 so far! I will have to do more than my original five or cut back my list!
I plan to join in the fun come January. We've got less than three weeks until Christmas and I've not made a single Christmas card for this year. Like Kathy, I NEED this challenge.
BTW ... Kathy, since you are on such a roll, with 90 cards under your belt, can you make another dozen or so for me. Be sure to make an extra nice one for yourself. (remind anyone of Christmas Vacation?)

Reminds me more of DH. One year he said "how about making yourself a super special birthday card!" LOL
Congrats on leading the Christmas Card Challenge Ann. You must be related to the Energizer Bunny - you are one lady that stays on the go. I may jump in this year and try to get ahead. Even if I don't use all the cards myself, it'll be nice to have a stock of Christmas cards available (I hold card sales with friends).
I'd noticed a couple of the months didn't have challenges listed yet so I'm offering a couple suggestions:
Make cards that include non-traditional colors, images or theme;
Use a humorous or funny greeting or image;
Make a Santa card using a Santa image or that's representative of Mr. Claus;
A Christmas card representative of where you live (i.e. I live near the beach in NC - we rarely get snow so I might use an image of a pelican on a decorated pier/piling; I previously lived in Buffalo NY and might use a snowy image or sledding, etc.).
I especially love Jacqueline's last two suggestions. Ann, can we incorporate Santa and cards representative of where we live?

It wasn't my intention or idea to put them together, but I guess it could work - I'll have to figure out how to show Santa in the rainy Pacific Northwest!
An idea for October could be "relax, you're into the home stretch - anything that speaks of relaxation such as a cozy fire, a cabin in the woods, something playful like tobogganing or building a snowman, etc."
What do you think?

Do you have another idea for October?
All the other months are now taken care of.
