Challenge Title: Tough As Nails
Hostess: Stamping_Crazy (Yvette DuBord)
Keyword: HYCCT1530
Date: October 30th, 2015
Welcome to Hope You Can Cling To! I am thrilled you are here with us. I am a first time host for HYYCT, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been playing along for a few years now, and every year I get more and more into it. October is a busy month for me, but I always make time for this wonderful event. Last year I made it into the Queen's thread, and it felt so good that I had done so much more than I thought I could, and that the beautiful projects that all of you make end up in the hands of wonderfully deserving people. So lets play!
First of all, remember that the most important part of this challenges is actually mailing your cards to MD Anderson - this challenge is such a blessing to the patients and their families, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity throughout the month.
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer several years ago, and had to make a lot of very difficult decisions along the road to survival. When you are involved in the cancer journey, from diagnosis to survival, you have to be stronger than ever. You have to be TOUGH AS NAILS! So my challenge is just that, Tough As Nails.
You may use any construction related materials to make or embellish your card. It could be drywall spackle, mesh joint tape, aluminum pipe tape, sandpaper, etc....you get the idea. Another take would be to use construction related stamps, but brownie points with me if you come up with something really outside the box.
**I will draw randomly from the cards uploaded to my challenge gallery and 5 of you will receive a special little something from me!
I cannot wait to see what you come up with - you all inspire me.
Bless you for being a part of this. We appreciate you.

Fun challenge and something, other than gold embossing, that I don't use often. I still stuck with heat embossing. Have to admit I saw your challenge earlier via another SCSer's card. Hope you don't mind that I uploaded early.....it's going to be a busy day with three HYCCT challenges(this from a person who usually only makes one card/day) Thanks, Yvette.
The cancer journey surely does require many decisions along the way and every one of them tough!
These are fun elements to work with! I made a little collage for mine. Under Construction
This challenge was so super fun. I love the card I created for this challenge. Thank you Yvette for the great challenge and for hostessing for the HYCCT card drive. Hugs!!!
I started doing something out of the box and it wasn't working...guess I'm getting overwhelmed by all the challenges and my creativity is waning..so I went with a more CAS design. I used drywall tape and silver pipe tape.
Had fun using one of my all time fave tool stamp sets- Totally Tool- did some embossing, distressing, and ink swiping. Couldn't resist using some plaid trim (nod to my dad's flannel work shirts) and added a tag. Here's HYCCT1530 Nail Head

Thanks Yvette for hosting this challenge- I used a Gelli Arts print background that I created that looks like metal along with brads, hardware and twine :-)
I had so much fun with this card. It really forced me to think creatively--something that does not come naturally. I was thinking adding an "under construction" sign in the upper right corner, but worried that it might not be appropriate for our hospital audience. What do you think? Thank you to everyone who participated in my challenge! It has been a very tough month for me, illness upon illness, new treatments for old conditions, not being able to sleep.... I know I was not a great hostess, and I sincerely hope I can have another chance next year. I love this cause, and all of the challenges are fun. I appreciate each and every one of you that support this fantastic endeavor.
