Today's TLC challenge was a pretty steep challenge for me, I can assure you. Truly - I am not at all a doodler and any challenge proposing freehand drawing sends me into a tailspin, but I sat down and put a CD on and drew away - and surprised myself by ending up with a card which both DH and I liked at the end of it. I had seen a couple of great cards in the gallery showcasing this and thought it would be something fun to use as a technique challenge.
* Step 1: DON'T PANIC!! Take a deep breath and relax. Get some card and a fine black marker.
*Step 2: Draw one or more horizontal lines - straight or even curved, near the top of your page. Optional: stamp an image which will form part of your design
*Step 3: Doodle in your dangles.
* Step 4: Congratulate yourself.
When I looked it up on Google, Dangle Art seems to have originated with Joanne Fink as an offshoot of Zentangles - she calls them Zenspiration Dangles.
I've embedded a video where Joanne Fink demonstrates the technique - you might find it a little long, but I've also attached three samples from the gallery which inspired me, by kind permission, so you can see what it's all about.
If you want to do an art journal page rather than card, feel free to do that! Do as little or as much as you are happy with. Mine is pretty plain and simple ;-).
I also asked Angie (ohmypaper!), Nancy (nwilliams6) and Rita (scootsv) if I could share cards they have previously uploaded - and which helped inspire the challenge. I've attached them as thumbs, here are links if you want to check them out in their galleries.
 Remember to use the keyword TLC557 when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread .
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Sabrina, thanks for sharing the video! This was the first time watching her video. Very cool! I am dashing off to do just a bit of housework and then I want to combine this with today's HYCCT challenge. I think they will go together wonderfully!
Oh Sabrina, you are a little stinker!! Making us do this thing....oh the dread!!!
Well, it really wasn't as hard as I was dreaming it would be (not saying it looks good!) but it is way out of my comfort zone! It takes quiet a bit of practice I think to make it look really good like Joan's!!
Here is my card. HYCCT TLC CAS SnowFairy by Stamperrobin - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for looking!

Ok, so the house is still a mess but here's my dangle! I really want to sit down with my book and practice because I think this is such a fun technique but I ventured on without practice and created another card for the challenge! Sabrina, thanks so much for using my previous attempt as a sample!
Fairy Magic
Oh Sabrina! You know I was just kidding with you right? Just giving you a bit of a hard time...I really kind of enjoyed doing the zen dangles...even though mine look a little kindergartenish!! I just have no knack but I think if I were to practice up they might not be quite so bad!

No worries, Robin!! It was quite the challenge for me too, after all. And I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, given my total fails with Zentangle.

So much fun Sabrina! I'm already sold on Zentangling so this sounded fun to me . Way different and still a learning curve though ;) I went ahead and made mine into a card for HYCCT. Merry Zendangle
OH Sabrina it IS fun. bit of learning curve but def. going to try again...TY for the neat challenge...HERE is my lil Christmas friend.

This would have to be THE MOST CHALLENGING CHALLENGE in the history of challenges LOL. I need a drink and perhaps a little lay down....Sabrina thank you..I had fun....I think.

I have been playing all day with this technique and I just have to share this piece with whoever . . . since it isn't a card, actually it is a page in my sketch book, I couldn't upload it.
The houses are stamped, see the house stamp here:Craft Stamps & Paper Crafting by Fun Stampers Journey Item #SS-0233
Then I began to embellish with the Dangles. Colored with Sakura pens.

Sabrina- thanks for this fun challenge! I combined my first try at this with Lydia's final HYCCT challenge but will have to try this again when I have more time (this card was a very quick one)
I've been wanting to try this technique and kept it in the back of my mind..For this week's TLC we got to revisit a challenge we might have missed..the perfect opportunity!
