Challenge Title: Food for the Body and Soul
Hostess: Kathy (scs Kathleen Curry)
Keyword: HYCCT1512
Date: Monday October 12th 2015
***************CHALLENGE DESCRIPTION*******************
October is my favorite time of year on Splitcoaststampers. I love seeing the gallery fill up with gorgeous cards as the community works together for such a good cause.
This year, it's a bit more personal for me. My Aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer in June and has been going through chemo these past few months. One thing she keeps mentioning is that food doesn't taste the same, or she has no appetite and also, she doesn't feel like preparing food for herself either. I've tried to prepare and freeze some comfort foods and family favorites for her. I want her to keep her strength up during this fight.
For my challenge, I would like to see the gallery full of cards with food items on them. Could be healthy fruit and vegetables, or fun sweet treats! Any food will do! I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

I am adding your aunt to my list Kathy, here is a link to mine I have finally thought of a "real" food I can do and will see if I can get home early today to try it.
How thoughtful of you to prepare food for your Aunt to help keep her strength up. It's good encouragement for us to think of others needing meals when strength is low.
My card is more about a treat than a food. We need those, too. :-)

I'm sure it is a real blessing to your aunt to have you preparing foods for her. When my mom was having really low energy and appetite the folks at their church brought meals frozen in individual servings for them to use as they needed. It made my mom feel so much better knowing that my dad would have good things to eat even though she wasn't up to cooking and in the smaller servings it didn't overwhelm them with huge amounts of food all at once.
Working with DD on school but I've got a tasty card in mind for later in the day!
I love this challenge! Food is really a big issue during treatment. We can only hope our cards will stimulate a few appetites. I am bringing on the chef for my card today:
I wish your aunt well through her treatments and for them to be successful. A man I knew who had cancer said his food had a metallic taste and he found it difficult to eat because of it.
Kathleen- awesome challenge! I used Flourishes' Berry Sweet stamp set, along with some fabric, moss green ribbon/buckle embellishment, and reverse cut stars- here's HYCCT1512 Bunches of Love
