Challenge Title: Hearts for Hope
Hostess: JBgreendawn (Stacy)
Keyword: HYCCT1506
Date: October 6th, 2015
Welcome to Hope You Can Cling To!
Remember that the most important part of this challenges is actually mailing your cards to MD Anderson - this challenge is such a blessing to the patients and their families, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity throughout the month.
I know the focus is mainly breast cancer awareness and these cards are going to that cancer center MD Anderson, but you know they treat other kinds of cancer there also right? yep, and they say cancer tends to run in families and when it doesn't those other families tend to have heart disease.
We lost my grandma recently and she would have been 85 this month.
But, one of the really cool parts about her story is. when she was 40 in 1970 she had a triple heart bypass with open heart surgery. she died on that table. and at that time this kind of surgery was experimental and there were not many surgeons who could do it or were willing to try. you see her surgery and my birth over lapped my mom and grandma were in the hospital with overlapping visits so, there has always been such a gratitude that I did grow up spending so much time with my grandma and even my son was lucky enough to do so too.
It is knowing this that there are "new" things being tried every day is such a hopeful thing. for every family regardless of what will hit them.
so, my challenge for you is to create your card with a trio of hearts and add in some red somewhere too.
I cannot wait to see what you do
Bless you for being a part of this. We appreciate you.

Hi Stacy, my card will have to wait till I get home from work today but I have a question...I have an image I would like to use but it has more than 3 hearts on it. Would it be ok especially if I color just 3 of them with red?

Stacy- thank you for this challenge- I too have a big thank you to give to doctors. 25 years ago my dad had a colon resection that saved his life- and he is about to celebrate his 86th birthday! This card is in honor of my dad, who just retired this year from cardiology.
My card is embossed, and the winter scene is sewn on top of purple washi tape. Added a button with some brown baker's floss, and an epoxy sentiment, with a trio of hearts. Here is HYCCT1506 Celebration of the Heart

Pat, I so have to agree with you sometimes I do not know how to use hearts on anything but wedding and Valentines day!
Stacy's challenge has showed us so many other ways to do so!! Thanks, Stacy!! I am making my granddaughters birthday cards and added several for added touches!!

Robin, the hearts do not have to be red at all, you just need red somewhere on the card with them
so, do what looks best to you. ( I am sure it will be fabulous)
Thanks Stacy for remembering those of us with heart health issues. I am happy to extend heartfelt hope & prayers to people in both groups: cancer and heart.

Yes, love that we are also thinking of individuals with heart problems too.
My mother died in 1984 of heart related issues and only 56 years old.
