Need help with melting EP on both sides?

Dos anyone have any tips for how to get embossing powder on both sides of an embellishment, without the first side melting and getting messed up? I have made some little shrink plastic charms I want to have different colors of EP on either side - metallic silver or gold on the back and clear on the front. There isn't a great way to hold them with tweezers, because I want the sides covered too, and when they get hot, the EP on the sides and back will get mark if it is being held with anything.

I'm making earrings for a local charity raffle that reflect our area (we are lake tahoe based) and want them to hold up to bit of wear and tear. So other ideas to seal front and back of shrink plastic are also welcome. I have to mass produce a few sets, so it needs to not be fussy.

Would a spray acrylic sealer work? You can get it in either a gloss or matte finish.

You could do the metallic side with embossing powder, then do glossy accents or the suggested acrylic spray on the other (or even seal the whole thing after you do the metallic).

I was thinking glossy accents too. You could do one side and the edges and when it dries just flip it over and do the other side.

Could you put the earring hooks on first, and then hold them with tweezers while you're embossing?

Would the extra amount of heat required to emboss both sides not start affecting the shrink plastic again, apart from the complications related to embossing? My vote would be to use metallic embossing on one side and then some sort of spray sealant or varnish.

Once the shrink plastic is shrunk, it can't shrink any more.

No, but I've found mine can warp a bit if I need to re-heat it. Maybe it's just that I only have a high-powered DIY heatgun, though.

How about dipping it in UTEE?
