I had a thought in my head for something that I'd like to try, a "love you to the moon and back" kind of theme. So I went looking for a moon stamp and couldn't believe that I didn't have one. I had a couple handfuls of stars of different kinds but no moon.
I did have a moon die but that was way too big for what I wanted.
So I am missing a moon.
What have you gone looking for and were surprised that you didn't have?

Men! I want a few nice looking men stamps to go with my Prima doll stamps. In the last few years Julie Nutting added a few boy stamps but not men. I would love to have a tuxedo man, a man with slacks and button-up shirt and a man with shorts and t-shirt in the Prima doll ladies size.
Stamps having to do with two of my kid's high school activities, diving and theater, and some licensed comic book heroes. I could go for some updated quotes sets and more Bible verses, too.

Inside sentiments. I have lots of one or two word sentiments but not enough for insides of cards. Also I need more images to color. I have too many silhouettes or solid images but not enough open images for coloring.
a Happy Birthday sentiment stamp that I like lol! I have upward of 10K stamps and I still don't have a 'go to' Happy Birthday stamp. I am not even sure what it is I am looking for, I just know what I have seen just isn't it lol!

I struck out on actors that looked even half decent but I would keep an eye on ebay.
Sentiments I back off...there are tons of them out there. That's pretty personal. But if you search on sentiment stamp in ebay tons will come up. Then you can back track to the mfg to see if they have more you like.
Have to agree with the Happy Birthday stamp. Went searching my stash and end up with a 'this will do' instead of something great! I may just have to unmount and/or start cutting stamps to use partials of one and then another. Mom didn't get a homemade b-day card last week because I was just disgusted with what I had.
I don't know until I want to make something! Oh, a regret was a pair of untied gym shoes that I should of purchased years ago. That's the set that I really wish I had. I've looked and looked for it but haven't found it.
I had seen it at a long gone stamping store that was close to my home. I don't recall who the manufacturer was.
I need a small cracked paint stamp (I know which one but I just haven't ordered it yet) and a set of inside birthday sentiments. I'm really tired of the ones I have and I'd rather stamp the sentiment instead of printing it from the PC. I've been searching but nothing that is really interesting - just the same old thing.
About 6 years ago, when my older son was starting in marching band, I would have loved to have had marching band related stamps. At the time, the only ones I could find had cutesy teddy bears or ducks or some such animals playing the instruments, which looked more suitable for a very young child's birthday card than for anything for high school students.
Now that my older son is in college and my younger son is a rising junior, I'm not really looking for marching band stamps any longer. But I still haven't come across any.
I just saw the Frugal Crafter use a rubber stamp that looked like tiny paint splatters. I figured I must have something similar in my little collection but I fell asleep last night mentally going through every one of my stamp sets and nope! Will have to go back and see who she said makes that stamp...
I don't own nearly as many stamps as some. The two *missings* that come to mind are some larger sentiments, like a big hello and thanks. The other type would be a polka dot background stamp.
As for your moon, that seems like something you could either print off the web or just draw.
Sooooo. When I started stamping (2006) all the sentiments were LARGE. Then,, they started getting smaller and smaller and I really liked the small stamps. I said that I didn't want the large sentiments any more. My friend (who never gets rid of any stamps) tried to talk me into keeping the large stamps, but no, I didn't listen. When I don't want them any more...out they go. And out they went. Last Christmas I saw a premade card that used a Christmas plaid with a sentiment that was embossed in white. So easy! Guess what? I had to buy some LARGE sentiments. And my friend laughed! Sadly, I would probably do the same thing again. Happy Stamping...B.
I don't own any decent balloon stamps. I only have a couple of tiny ones and I can't ever seem to get them to look right.
I also would like running stamps. My son is an excellent cross country runner that will probably move on to marathons when he's done with high school next year.
My other son really enjoys chess. I can't recall ever seeing chess stamps, but I'd like to find some.

Chess pieces are part of a "grab bag" plate of rubber images available by 100 Proof Press:
There might be some by Stamp Francisco but my tablet said the link I found might be unsafe. And I only followed a link if I heard of the company so just found the two.
PS- Rubber Hedgehog has a silhouette images of a female marathon runner (I think someone else was looking for this):
Metalcharm, if you are still looking for Moon stamps ( & Sun)- Technique Tuesday has a set that has moon sayings with moons. The set is called "My Sun And Moon" (14.99). They are clear stamps. Check out their web site.
I don't seem to have many silhouettes or solid images that would work well with watercolor backgrounds. I am learning that technique and most of the tutorials show those.
I do have lots of open design images for coloring and love to use those but naturally I don't want to color right now!
dorie95, Maymay Made It has a very clever video on how to make those watercolor backgrounds that match the stamp, using the backs of the clear stamps themselves! I tried it and even though my stamps don't stick as well as hers it came out really cute:
For the poster looking for marathon stamps - a friend of mine used to have some running related stamps, I believe they were by Your Next Stamp and the Sweet Stamp Shop. I don't see the sets on either company's website, but maybe you would have luck finding them in BST or ebay or something.

Poppydarling, thank you for posting the link. If it wasn't so late, I'd be trying this right now. Now it gives me something to try tomorrow! Looks easy enough and I do like the results a lot.
I just want to know with all the hundreds (all right, probably in the thousands) of stamps that I have over all the years of stamping, why do I still need to buy more??????

I found this image of untied sneakers (not familiar with company):
