Well I decided to do a little organizing since challenge wasn't up.... Maybe I'll head to the basement to see what I can get into.... I've been stalking it since 6:30 am
I've all but eliminated this challenge from my schedule....just for this reason. Many challenges upload after 10:30PM(EDT) the night before...why can't this one???? I, too, start my day early and then move on to other things.
I have to admit, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's complaining....I've been waiting since 5:15 a.m. I'm with Sallie....I'm about to drop this one because it's so frustrating!!! I know, I know....patience is a virtue....and I do appreciate all the hostesses...truly I do, but why not post late the night before???? So many like to do the challenge BEFORE work.

I'm off to exercising....can't keep waiting, but what I like to do is at least Know what the challenge is so I can be thinking about what to do while I'm exercising.....Sigh

I am thinking about something to do, but it is more Canadian - I want to try my hand at watercolouring a maple leaf using my own stencil - so it would be using the colour red and making your own stenil.
Oh and I have today off work today to finally get to do this one and it is still not posted. I have had to skip so many recently because I have been too busy and was hoping to do this one today. Hopefully someone will have it up soon.
kiagc, that's a great idea -- it's easily adapted for any country, they all have some easy to stencil symbol -- and there are maple trees most everywhere

another idea would be to make a July 1 card for Canada and a July 4 card for U.S. I love when the challenge is posted the night before the challenge so that you have time to think about it.... quite often challenges are posted by 7 p.m. arizona time and that is so nice...
The mixed media challenge is cool today. I am voting for ladybug's idea with a "like". Maybe if there are five or more likes on an idea, that could be the focus today.

Since I'm a fairly new hostess I don't know what to tell you. I post my challenges between 9-10 pm Thursday night...glad to hear that you like that part. I don't know why one of our hostesses forgets her turn every month. I'm so sorry!

I am leaving tonight to go to my sister's house in Shaver. Hope Yosemite isn't smokey for you! We have had some fires around here!
If you haven't seen Yosemite before you need to come back again in a wet year as well. The waterfalls are magnificent in normal rainfall years!

I went backwards in my gallery to find something red white and blue to start the keyword. Sorry to not have done this today - i know that is so much NOT the spirit of a challenge. I need to head off to work. Sorry I can't play. I lurk most mornings! Have fun.
I'm not sure how to make a pretty link, but here is the keyword search.
I have a card I could post (it is for tomorrow's DRS but I think it's ok) I could make the gallery if you want me too. But if you post a card with that keyword it will make itself (sometimes take a half hour or so to show up but have faith, it will!).

My 4th of July cards are all done, signed, stamped and ready to be mailed....so for that reason only, I will not be participating today. I make cards to send....not just exercises in creativity to stockpile.
Lela, Robin's advise to visit the Ahwahnee Hotel is right on. I spent several nights there and it is quite a lovely experience...at the time, they even offered special tours and classes for guests....and afternoon tea.
Hey, Robin...it's fine to use the card! In your shoes, I'd go ahead a post a challenge as quickly as I could. Just sayin'...
And while you're at it, please unstick the other 2 challenges so they'll drop down from the top spot. It just makes it easier to see the latest challenge

Kia, my apologies.....it is really YOU that got the ball rolling. Guess many of us are afraid of stepping on someone's tender toes, but you took the "bull by the horns" and got action going.
I hope the hostess is ok. I'm not saying this to point anything out, just to pass along heartfelt good mojo. Things happen in life, and then cards come second (or third). I am avoiding going to work but I need to leave now. L

I'm done with my 4th cards as well but did find inspiration in the challenge... I feel just being inspired by the challenge is good enough. It worked for me today. I am off to a late lunch with DH and I will be back to comment in the gallery later.... Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Here is my card
