This week I'm hoping to take you back a few years to the days when you could sit and enjoy your precious dolls without a care in the world. I wish I had more detailed memories of those care free days myself. Life was so simple then. In honor of those precious memories, and for all of our children (or grand children) who are still enjoying them, our Inspiration site this week is the Barbie Dolls - Let's Play Board pinned by Sheila Douglas. I think you'll be amazed at all the beautiful colors and textures, fabrics and home decor accessories as I was!! Go ahead, pick your inspiration from any of these beautiful dolls. Let's play this week in honor of our old friend Barbie!
Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
If you are unfamiliar with how to grab the hyperlinks from a Pinterest Board, here is a helpful video:[/COLOR]
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from the Barbie Dolls - Let's Play Board pinned by Sheila Douglas.
Use the keyword: IC493 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites..… so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Wow...super fun remembering all the Barbies and outfits I had. I am smiling. Thanks Audrie...so great and so reminded me of my Mom and the little outfits she would make for us.
Wow! What a site! Those sure are NOT the type of clothes my daughter had with her Barbie dolls! Exquisite! This should be fun! thanks for the challenge and for being hostess!
Audrie, I saw so many Barbie dolls that I didn't remember. It brought back some fond memories of my daughters. Here's my card.

Finally - FINALLY got something I like this week! I use to LOVE playing with Barbies when I was little -- I would play for hours!!! I am afraid the Barbies in this website, are a lot younger than my Barbies were! LOL Needless to say, it was a nice memory and I really enjoyed seeing how Barbie has grown over the years. I chose the Princess Diana Barbie to inspire me!

Great challenge - that board is awesome! I saw so many dresses I loved, but the one I like best is one of the ones provided for us in the thumbnails ~ here are my
Definitely some gorgeous designer dresses in there and the dresses from the early 60's look like dresses my mom used to wear.
BTW, My mom worked at Mattel and guess what she used to bring home for me in the early 60's?
I'm hoping to do one of two ideas I have for a card!

Thank you, Audrie, for the super fun challenge! I loved playing Barbies with my sis when we were young. I bought plenty of them for my daughter although she actually preferred stuffed animals and Polly pockets! I created a badly needed baby card and here it is....
My daughter was more of a tomboy than a doll collector, so we didn't have many Barbie dolls in our house. But I had fun looking at the inspiration site. Here's my card:
