An Australian demo pinned several pictures on the Stampin Up Only board that shows lots of new goodies from the new catalogue. Not thrilled with the new colors
I haven't been too happy with the new colors for a few years
I have to concur. I think I only purchased part of the product line one of last year's new incolors, and I haven't used it much. I was a die hard "must have the new colors" SU customer - that way for 10 years or more. Stopped doing that 2 years ago when I analyzed that the colors weren't ones that I liked.
Funny thing, I also stopped buying clothes at that time for the same reason. Must be the Pantone color effect that sweeps through the different industries....guess I'll have to wait out the current round of popular colors.
thanks girls. Found it. It's hard for me to tell since the pictures are not true to life due to lighting issues. I'm sad to have missed out on that retiring Pistachio green though. It looks a lot like actual matcha green tea which I loooove.
I'm not sure if I should share a link, but I did find something by googling Stampin Up 2015-2017 in colors. I found a blog that showed the colors. They look decent enough, but an awful lot like recent colors. Three of them remind me of in colors that are retiring this year, and then there's another awful, awful yellow that looks like Summer Starfruit or whatever it was called. The other green looks okay. But what does SU have against the color blue? We never get a good true blue for an in color, and they take all the blues out of their main lineup. Other companies (Gina K. and My Favorite Things come to mind) have a number of beautiful blues.
Okay, my rant for the day. Not excited at all.

Yeah, having looked at that link and another source I have to give a resounding MEH... not feeling those colours at all. As Julie said, they didn't venture far from last years, and what about a real blue...
I'm cranky about the new colors - they appear to be a re-hash of the lineup we've seen already a few times with ever-so-slight changes. I need TRUE pink and TRUE yellow and TRUE blue - not the muted, muddied or washed-out versions they keep throwing at us... The colors are pretty enough in their own right, but they DEFINITELY DO NOT fill any holes in the available spectrum...just sayin'...
I hope that I like the stamps this go 'round. Scribbly fonts and "cutesy" images and a billion more florals WILL NOT float my boat...
Jeez-a-lou, I sound cranky across the board, don't I?!? Sorry - I'll reserve judgement until I see more and stop whining already, lol...
There are only so many colors one can get from the basic primary colors.
I did see the 'delightful dijon' colors and those would be great for fall cards/atcs. I have trouble finding colors in the orange range.
I'm not sure about the new in colours yet either. I do like the cucumber green though if the colour tone is accurate on my screen.
I absolutely love, love the Watercolour Wings and matching Bold Butterflies dies. And it looks like these will co-ordinate with the current Butterfly Thinlits.
My demo saw the new catalog today and she was impressed! She hasn't been impressed with a new catalog in a while so I can't wait to see it! She did say prices are going up on ink pads and other things and she didn't like the new in colors
Meh here too with the new colors, but I'm sure I will like one or 2 when I get to see them in real life. That yellow has to look better! I was hoping for more pastels again. Boo to price increases!
I've noticed that blue has been out of favor for several years. It will come back!
Demo told me that the prices that went up were like the ink pads went to 6 and card stock to $7. Those are only a little increase. Reinkers $3.25. She likes the catalog and says there's even some Christmas. I think that's what she said....
I'm another "meh" on the new In Colors. They do look similar to ones that have come and gone. Perhaps the taupe will be pretty in person, and maybe the red. The last group, with the Blackberry Bliss ( my FAV)... Was the first group that I have liked in a long time. I actually bought the ink pads, an assortment pack of paper and an extra pack of the Blackberry Bliss paper.
I think I will be easily able to pass on this next group.
Why is Australia getting first dibs at this? Is the SU annual convention still in July? (Sorry, I was a demo back in 2000-2005, so I'm sure lots has changed)
Stampin' Up is global now, so they will be rotating where events are held going forward. This year is the last year for separate conventions. There is a convention in Salt Lake City this July, but the catalog has started in June for a couple of years now.
I love the new catalog! I'm not too interested in the new colors, but they have done a good job of integrating them with the other colors in the DSP.
Agreeing that the new colors do nothing for me and do seem so very similar to what we've had recently. I'm longing for clear true colors also. Oh, well- maybe I'll save some $ this year;)
This is why I love all different types, brands, & colors of inks. I actually like SU's colors, and CTMH's colors too, but I just truly dislike the container the pads are in. I end up dropping them on my table, getting my entire hands inky & pinching my fingers. User problem probably. Anyway, thank goodness for Distress, Adirondack, AMuse, Brilliance & all those other lovely ink pads I can and do use.
