Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #349
Who Let the Dogs Out
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Spring is here. Spring is here.....Yippee....Hooray.....Spring is here. Yip, Yip, Yip.....Rrruf, Rrruf, Rrruf......Woof, Woof, Woof......Yap, Yap, Yap.....Even the dogs can tell that Spring is finally here and are busy running around, sniffing in all the corners, under all the bushes and behind all the rocks. So busy running around that they are paying no attention to Ms. Delilah Kate as she tries to keep them restrained.
2: Next door, Millie and Maude are out in their bright floral summer dresses and their big floppy garden hats watering the blooms that are starting to add some bright color to their yard and along the fences. They always have the nicest, the most colorful, and best smelling yard in town. But they don't care much for the those loud noisy dogs next door. "Darn noisy things, she should put muzzles on them" said Millie. "Now, Millie, you know that just makes them run around worse and digging at the ground and rubbing on the fence to try to get them off" Maude was somewhat deaf and couldn't see what Millie's problem was.
3: After the cool of the morning wore off the ladies could usually be seen sitting on the back patio enjoying the colors and the slight breezes while they sipped their lemonade. Before long, one or both of them would be nodding off and snoring. Then Delilah Kate knew she had to keep the dogs in because if they woke the ladies up, they would really be in a foul mood.
4: However after a very cold, snowy winter the dogs were less inclined to go inside than normal. As luck would have it, just as Delilah Kate opened the front gate to get the mail, the neighborhood stray cat ran across the sidewalk and into Millie and Maude's yard. Rut Roh.....shortly after that were 5 loud yipping, yapping, woofing, and Rrrruffing dogs running pell mell after it. Knocking Delilah Kate down, tearing up the flower beds as they went; they were intent on chasing that darn stray out of the neighborhood.
5: "Oh Dear" Delilah Kate thought as she got up from the mud puddle she had landed in, "What am I going to do now, I can't possibly replace all those flowers. And the ladies will be hopping mad. They may follow through with their threats to have the city take the dogs."
6: Teapotters, here is where we come in. Surely 42,000 teapotters can replace a few flowers.
Challenge Translation:
Bring flowers in every color, flowers of any shape and size. Bring baskets and buckets of flowers, bring wheelbarrows too. Lots of cheerful and colorful blooms is what we need this week. No ladders or it's the back door for you.
