Challenge Title: Metallics
Hostess: tiffguam Tiffany Johnson
Keyword: MIX111
Hello & welcome to this week's Mix-Ability Challenge, MIX111 - Metallics! While I was at the Craft and Hobby Association Convention I noticed a HUGE trend in the crafting world- METALS! They were showing up in every form...Foils, twines, pastes, coloring mediums, embellishments, patterned papers, EVERYTHING!
So my challenge to you, is to create something incorporating this trend while still using 2 different mediums. For my sample, I used Texture Luxe Gold & Pearl pastes as well as Gelatos, which is a watercolor!
OH I think I may be able to finally squeeze one in - I hardly ever seem to get a chance to do the challenges. And of course I love me some metallics! I have just the thing in mind....

This was total fun - and my desk is now a total mess, too . I used gilding flakes, gold glitter and metallic gold and black pens - plus gesso, gelatos and acrylic paint, so plenty of media mixed up here.
And, I remember that the leafing pens make a great resist with watercolours, so I am hoping to play along again tomorrow and re-visit that technique.

I have some metallics going on with the card I finally managed to put together this morning for Brenda's VSN challenge - and with inks, alcohol inks, UTEE, Stickles and Gelatos I think there's enough to qualify as mixed media, too . VSNMAR15F Let There Be Light
My card for this challenge, I was just having a play but decided to make it into a card, as yet no sentiment as its going into my stash for now, I forgot to mention the metallic is frontage embossing powder in marine blue on the spots on the flowers and the spots on the bottom, not easy to see.
Very cool challenge! To feature the use of metallic on my card, I've used frantage embossing enamel as well as gold glitter/stickles. I've even managed to incorporated a little mixed media with some lumiere acrylic paint on this one!
