Default Fun Stampers Journey Direct Sales *Merged

Does anybody know anything else about this Company, other than what is on their website?
Fun Stampers Journey HERE

I LOVE being a Close to my Heart Consultant, but I enjoy seeing what other companies are doing.

I looked over the catalog and really don't think they are offering anything that SU and CTMH don't offer, too. Many things are suspiciously VERY similar to past SU stamps I already own. No"coach" in my state yet (VA) - Curious to see how this takes off.

Yeah! I knew them beFORE they became a direct-sales company with "coaches". They would come to the stamp conventions in my city and I always bought some stamp sets from them, and also would make a couple makes-n-takes. Very fun! One year I bought a whole bunch of Popcorn the Bear sets, 'cause they were clearing out all of their inventory of non-Fun-Journey stamps... I think at that point they were starting to sell only their own stamps. My friend bought one Fun-Journey stamp set from them too. I do remember being surprised that Richard Garay was actually the stamper, and not his wife (I know, how sexist of me!!).

I looked at their PFD catalog today. They have a lot of stuff that looks just like SU stuff.

They are only selling Red Rubber Unmounted Stamps. They also have their own line of Paper and Inks.
Fun Stampers Journey is a division of Journey Blooms, Inc., headquartered in sunny Phoenix, Arizona

It's going to be interesting to see how well they do.

I remember back when they moved from somewhere to Phoenix too. It was on their Facebook page. I went ahead and downloaded their catalog, and put it right next to the SU! catalog, and scrolled through both, looking for similar stamp sets. Now my arm is tingling (from carpal tunnel). Grrr.

I thought the boots stamp looks a lot the one we had. Different saying and different style of boots. Simply Bootie.

Summer Garden looks a lot like "I like you" hostess stamp set.

I looked at the catalog and thought that they had a nice, fresh feel. I like their color palette quite a bit. While it's true that some of the stamps are similar to some that are already out there (SU! and other companies), the same holds true for most stamp companies - there aren't that many "new" ideas out there. To clarify: the stamps are red rubber on cling mount, not unmounted...

I looked too, the stamps do seem to have a different feel to them, but extremely similar to other stamps on the market. The coach kit is quite a deal, but one can only sell for them- I don't remember but I would imaging SU and Creative Memories is the same. I am more than likely signing up to sell SU again. It has just been too long since my fingers were inky! And, I still think SU has the best cardstock.

There are similarities among a lot of companies.
They want to hit what is trending, and have a variety of styles to meet different personal preferences.

I hope they are able to get more people excited about card making, and sending cards! I don't want our hobby to ever die off to the tech advances of our society.

My experience has been that while many are not MAKING cards anymore, they ALL still love GETTING a handmade card.

Also, when I place my plastic shoebox full of handmade cards out in the narthex of my church, they are gone in a week or two. I can fill it with about 75 cards at a time and my church's average weekly attendance is 120. So my church's members clearly still love to send cards.

My youngest daughter's dance teacher loves SU!'s En Pointe stamp set, which I have. Every year, she pays me to make tons of cards with that set. It all started when I gave her some as a thank you gift years ago. That set has DEFINITEY paid for itself!

I agree with you, though, in that I hope tech doesn't kill this beautiful hobby - but I truly don't think it will.

I know that Richard Garay works for Spellbinders now as the education director or art director. So I guess Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey are working together.

Have you seen what they say about their inks? Really interesting!

Our True Color Fusion Ink Pads are created by fusing both pigment and dye inks together into a unique hybrid formula. Because of this, you get the fast drying aspects of a dye base, but the true color of a pigment. They have no chalky residue and do not fade. They can be used on all types of materials, including paper, fabric, wood, and acrylic, and become permanent when heat set on non-paper materials.

Does anyone know what the weight is for their line of cardstock? I really like a lot of those colors.

Sorry, But when I think of Red Rubber unmounted, I think that is comes with Cling foam already attached to the rubber.

Yes they are like SU Clear mounted Stamps.
I thought that a lot of the stamps looked like some that SU has had in the past. This guy use to work with SU.

No worries! I was excited because I'm a truly unmounted girl - nekkid rubber with two-way glue on the back - so I was hoping...

Speaking of spellbinders...did anyone else hear or see the new Spellbinders dies with matching stamp sets, paper & cardstock, ink and embellishments lines coming out?
Blessings.

Their blurb indicates that their paper is 80 lb. Seems a bit light weight for me, but now days there is such a difference in papers of the same weight, it is almost meaningless to go by the stated paper weight without being able to actually feel it.

I've bought stamps from Crafty Individuals (nice range, but their stamps aren't very deep so it's easy to mess up the impression) and Non Sequitur (love. love. love! their stamps), and both lots were truly unmounted and needed to be trimmed (and in my case put onto EZ Mount).

I think Non Sequitur (used to be US-based) sold their catalogue to someone in Holland so now they're in the EU. The stamps are sold in red rubber sheets with multiple stamps, so you're kind of starting from scratch Check them out here: NON SEQUITUR.

ETA - sorry, should clarify that on their website you need to look under "PLATES" (right at the bottom on the page I've linked to) in order to buy the stamps in rubber sheets. Otherwise they're just selling the stamps separately (in the old Non Sequitur company they only sold as whole sheets I think)

Well said! I joined! Its hard to make stamps unique when there is only so many ways to draw a flower or a butterfly. ;-) Due know that the sets released are only phase 1--- they released just a few to test their systems and inventory control. I am so excited to see where FSJ goes.

I think 80 lb. weight it pretty standard for Cardstock.

Featuring HYBRID INK, the first all-purpose, craft ink. Blending the best of both pigment and dye inks into one ink pad. Fine art colors that look like pigment but dry like dye.

  • Acid-Free, archival, and non-fading
  • All paper surfaces, use heat on glass, fabric, wood, plastic, metal and clay
  • Raised felt pad inks any size stamp
  • Crisp, bright and non-bleeding impressions
  • Lid snaps into base creating handle for easy inking
  • Fast drying,

i bought a stamp from them at one of the conventions around here last year. They are made with red rubber mounted on the EZ gray foam, they stamp well. One of the Coaches started a meetup group here in Phoenix, I did not join but had a couple of friends who did. They enjoyed it but did not like belonging to a "club" where you had to purchase the stamp set.

They did partner with Spellbinders so many of their stamps have matching dies, they both shared a booth at the Creating Keepsake Convention held last month here in Phoenix. I do like many of their stamps so hopefully the company will grow.

My view as a SU! snob. LOL. I have been a SU! lover since 1993. My back house which is my stamping/scrapbook room is about 85% SU! I love everything about SU! especially their cardstock. The last several years I began to get bored with SU! stamps. They all started to look alike. I took a break from purchasing stamps. About 1 1/2 years ago I went to a class that FSJ was having. I wasn't sold...just yet. But I lOVED the people. The more time I spent going to classes and workshops I began to really enjoy their products. I will always prefer wood mounted stamps over any other, but I found that FSJ had some nice different images. Not the usual designs. The cardstock is comparable to SU! Their ink pads are very different than SU! and quite nice. The coverage is clean and even. Some have said it sounds like the Palette ink pads. I have several Palette ink pads and I would say, no they are not the same. To me its more of a pigment based but quick dry. Many of their stamp designs have been discontinued with the new released catalog. The current on-line catalog is just a snippet of what is to come. Each month new items will be released. Then in September the 'real' catalog is set to be released. A few have mentioned that some of the images are similar to SU!. Richard Garay did work for SU! at one time, so yes, often times our work is influenced by our experiences. So I'm sure there is SOME SU! influence. But, Richard has an incredible creative mind so I know much of his designs and creativeness is stemming from his personal talent. What I love about SU!, CTMH, and FSJ is that for those of us who live in areas that no longer have stamp or scrapbook stores, we can still get the best products that are out on the market. Each company has it's specialty and as stamp lovers we can enjoy it all. SU! will always have my heart, as it was because of them that I fell in love with stamping, but FSJ, I believe is renewing people's love to stamping all over again because of their fresh color palette and designs.

I'm liking the stamps and samples I'm seeing. I'm always happy to find a new source to support my hoarding, um, I mean support my crafty needs. Hope they can make a go of it.

I received samples of 2 cardstock colors. It feels very light to me, lighter then SU. But I am liking the colors. I can use the cardstock for layering, punches, dies ect. If I use a card base, I'll line the card with the GP white cardstock to give the card weight.

Well, I have had my starter kit for a few weeks now. I am very pleased w/the quality and quantity of products you get in the starter kit. I have also ordered a few more ink pads, stamp sets and c/s. The c/s is nice. Not as heavy as SU! but pretty close. The ink pads are amazing! (and I have tried many in my time). The customer service is awesome. In fact, one of the c/s ladies seen someone was having trouble ordering over the weekend- so Kimber (on her day off)- offered to call the coach to assist her & did...now that is pretty cool. July 22nd, more of the FSJ line is going to be released.. can't wait. As mentioned before the 'real' catalog goes live in Sept. I have tried other companies-- but for me, I like being with a smaller company... and so far FSJ has more than met my expectations. I think there are 160- 170 coaches already, so they a growing rapidly! Feel free to chk out their website on the 22nd, when there will be more products added to the line.

I signed on as a coach (#116!) at the Chantilly, VA Scrapbook Expo. I like everything I've seen in the product line so far, and I like their approach. They're purposely building the product line slowly, so the coaches can get to know the product and really be familiar with it, rather than overwhelming everyone at once.

I've fondled my kit--which is a great value, BTW!--but haven't had the opportunity to really play with the products yet. I'm excited to see where the company will go from here. Richard's got a great vision, and the staff I met in Chantilly were energetic and knowledgeable!

Are the stamps from FSJ made of red rubber & wood mounted, or are they made of red rubber w/ cling mounting? Just wondering.... I took a peek at their catalog and I like what I see!

Very Interesting! While lots of the stamps were not my style, there were some I'd love to buy!

Especially the coffee set!

I did see some that resembled SU. I love the CS colors! I too thought the starter kit looked like a great value. I'm excited to see the upcoming releases.

Hello, they are red rubber, w/cling and they are closely trimmed, which I love!

Hello, I am #87. I was with The Angel Co for 6 years before they closed. FSJ feels a lot like TAC but even better. I too love that they are releasing products in batches to start... its nice for my pocket book and it allows me/us to familiarize ourselves w/the products. I personally feel the stamps are fun-- and the variety should be pleasing to just about anyone. I think its worth the investment and the opportunity is a no-brainer for me. I love that I am joining the founders and part of the launch. Richard has a wonderful vision and is absolutely amazing!
