Lisa here as your hostess for this weeks WTUI challenge.
Growing up I learned to play as many musical instruments as I could get my hand on. I learned to play piano by listening to my sister practice and going in and watching her. She would leave and I would spend hours playing everything that she had played. Then my mom started playing and one day I walked in the room and played the same pieces I had just heard my mom play. Then when I got to choose an instrument to play in school I chose violin. By the time I got to high school I had picked up trombone, baritone and voila. When my little guy got to chose his school instrument he decided he wanted to play trumpet. So what do I do? Yes you guessed it, I picked up the trumpet and started playing showing him yes I can play that too. I am not entirely sure how I can pick all these up and learn in a couple of weeks but music just moves me.
This week we are making cards that have music in them. Play your favorite song and be moved by it and create a card with music.
Here's a link to our WT518 Music Moves Me gallery. Music Moves Me
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Once in a great while, things just work out! I was doing a card for a PTI challenge when I saw your challenge, Lisa....and the challenges meshed. Thanks!
Even though I LOVE music, & love this challenge, it started out a bit rough! I have 1 music related stamp & 1 music related EF. So when I saw this challenge at 12:04am, I decided I wanted to use the stamp, but struggled with how to use it. After a crazy night of much interrupted sleep (my son's a volunteer firefighter & the radio kept going off!), I woke up this morning with the sentiment stuck in my head and voila! My card was born! So, here it is:
How fortunate you are to have the gift of playing so many instruments untaught! Hope to find a little time later today to play in this fun challenge. Bet this will be a great gallery!

I used a line from a favorite song of mine performed by Tony Bennett as I grew up near San Francisco- and stamped a Skyline from Hambo, adding my own details with markers. Created a sponged sky, mostly left white as it's usually foggy in SF when I visit Here's I Left My Heart

A little late for Thursday's challenge of Ways to Use it (Music) -- Redlynny you have a wonderful gallery, and I chose this card because it had butterflies in it. Love U by redlynny at Splitcoaststampers
