Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #337
Tonight's Success Factor Depends on a Tractor
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Jaynes high-school heart went a-flutter whenever she saw Blaine. Tall and ruggedly athletic, Blaine was always ready to play a prank on one of his many friendsor laugh when someone was able to prank him. Even though Blaine was always friendly to her, Jayne didnt think that he felt the same. Quiet and studious, Jayne was by all appearances quite the opposite of Blaine.
2. One Sunday in church the pastor announced that a hayride was scheduled for the youth next weekend. All of the young people were encouraged to invite someone from outside the congregation to join them. Jayne saw this as her opening and on Monday summoned her courage to ask Blaine to accompany the group. Much to her delight, his trademark smirk came over Blaines face as he said Sure, that sounds like a lot of fun!
3. The week seemed to last forever, but Saturday finally came and Blaine met Jayne at the farm. She didnt notice, but Blaine was just as nervous as Jayneyou see, Blaines heart went aflutter when he saw her too. He was thrilled to have an opportunity to spend time with Jayne outside of school. even if it was with a large group on a cool evening.
4. When the time came to board the ride, Blaine held out his hand for Jayne to steady herself as she stepped on a bale of straw and up onto the wagon. Despite her nerves, she found it easy to speak to Blaine and soon they were talking as though they had known each other forever. Jayne was singing inside as the others climbed aboard one by one. As the teens took their places, Jayne couldnt imagine anything more perfect!
5. The farmer jumped up into the seat of the International Harvester tractor and started to crank the engineand failed. Pause and try againand againand again but the tractor stood silent. The teens groaned and Jaynes heart sank. Her perfect evening was quickly turning into a disaster. Oh Farmer please start it we must now depart this. Tonights success factor depends on this tractor.
6. Ruh- roh Teapotters it seems as though we are going to have to get a replacement vehicle and fast!!! Jayne and Blaines future could rest upon it! Lets muster 42,000 tractors to save the day (or the night!).
Here is a little bit of musical inspiration:
