INDEX CARDS - Need Your Help (as of 08-24-2020)
02/10/2021
Sabrina (Cook22) is continuing with this project.
New thread can be found HERE
UPDATED THROUGH POST #631
History Way back in 2004, the idea was developed to have an index card at the beginning of each gallery to show all the stamps in the set. This project continues over time as SU! continually adds new sets. The trick to this project is getting people like you to take your new sets and make index cards every time new stamp sets come out.
What is an Index Card? It is a stamped panel or card made from all of the images of a given stamp set--like these: Index Card Example Alphabet Example
An index card allows you to see all the stamped images in a set, without having to flip through your catalog or retired catalogs as the case may be. They are especially helpful for when the new sets come out and you want to see the stamps in a set before you have an SU! catalog in hand.
Stampin' Up!'s copyright rules do not allow us to just photo copy the stickers. Instead, the goal is to stamp each image (and only the images from that set). If you wish to make the index card like a handmade card, that is fine - just don't obscure any of the images - remember the focus should be on each image.
What can I do to Help? Look over the list below and decide if you have any of the stamp sets. If you do, post to this thread which stamp sets you'd be willing to make an index card. I will post to this thread to confirm that you have been assigned the sets you want to do (to make sure there are no duplicate efforts by all of you). Go and make your best card front with each image in your stamp sets and upload the images to the card gallery (either your own member gallery or to the Index Gallery {Special Collections -> Index Cards}. Then post to this thread so I know it has been completed. I'll do the rest!
Sign me up! The lists in the next couple of posts contain the new and old sets that still need index cards. If there is a name by the set, then there is a volunteer already for that set.
PM or post here if you have questions. I know a lot of you have helped in the past with this ongoing project--please consider helping again. Thanks, in advance, for helping make this project a successful part of the SCS gallery!
I know I don't have anything from the new catalogue ( yet ), but I can do Birthday Candles and Vivid Vases.
I've already done Perfect Pennants, I'll just double check that I uploade ot to the Index Card gallery.
I'll update my signature to link to this thread, too. Thanks for all your work on this, Karen. I love index cards :-).
Karen, I just uploaded truly grateful, happy watercolor, petite petals, gift givers, and faith in nature to my member gallery. I'll do great outdoors later...
Wow. What a job! Thanks.

Mary,
Work of Art & Honeycomb Hello are already spoken for, but the rest are yours to do - thanks!
I see that some of the Index Cards in the gallery are completed cards. If that will work, I have one I just uploaded this morning using Words of Courage.

Jenifer, that is an awesome card! Unfortunately an index card has to show ALL stamps from a set, and I don't see the star on your card. If you want to add it and re-upload the image as an index card, that would be awesome!
Just so you know, anything that is an index card no longer will show in your gallery. So if you add the star and want it both as your own card and an index, then upload it twice (using different filenames).

D'oh! I had forgot about the star, but have remedied that now, I made it into an "Embellishment Opportunity".
I've uploaded the new version to the Index section. Glad I could help.
I've uploaded the following index cards: And Many More - Beautiful Bunch - Bordering Blooms - Cupcake Party - Flower Patch. I will work on the others I have said I will do as soon as I can.
