It's All of our Blessings I was Somehow Forgetting

Here is My Story!
1. The Spaetzel family was all tucked in for bed - Mamma, Liese, Ella and baby George at least. Papa Spaetzel was nervously scurrying back and forth. Here it was mid-November and he didn't have nearly enough food stashed for his family to get through the cold winter.
2. Did I forget to mention that the Spaetzels are mice? Baby George, though a welcome surprise had thrown the family into a tailspin. Their old quarters were to cramped and not sheltered well. Mamma needed to spend her days caring for the little ones. Papa had been so busy moving them into their new home in the corner of the old shed that he hadn't gathered the way that he usually did. By the time that they were settled, the garden had been gleaned and the fields picked over.
3. Papa's movements awakened Mamma. She was able to coax the worry on Papa's face out into words. He expressed his frustration, especially his worry that he had put their family in jeopardy. Mamma listened as Papa lamented his decisions until, exhausted, he finally let out a deep sigh.
4. Mamma asked Papa to look at their sleeping babies. "Do you blame them?' she asked. "Of course not!" was the fast retort. Mamma responded "But if it weren't for them we would have been able to stay in our old home. We could have fattened up and had not a care in the world. But our life would have been less rich and less wonderful without them."
5. Papa sighed again, then smiled. They had had hard times before, and had gotten through them. He wouldn't trade his babies for anything. They had some food, they had a warm and wonderful new home and most of all, they had each other. "Oh Mamma you're right, it's not such a plight. It's all of our blessings I was somehow forgetting." Mamma smiled back. They were blessed indeed!

Share a story with our destination gentleman about a time when you had worries, doubts or depression and got through it. You do not need to share this with the Teapotters if you do not want to...so you are on your honor for those extra cookies!!
