Is there anyone out there that might be interested in helping organize a gathering for Northeast Ohio stampers? Years ago, I used to get together with a couple of girls and we organized a few shoebox swap gatherings. It was always so much fun, and I'd love to do something again sometime. I live in Wayne County, and work in Medina so most likely if I'm the primary organizer it's going to be close to my home-base but I'd be open to suggestions for a location.
If you're not familiar with the shoebox swap format, the basic idea is that everyone creates a project that can be easily recreated by those in attendance. If 15 people are attending, then you provide enough materials for everyone in attendance to recreate your project. And you move around from station to station all day, getting to recreate everyone's projects. You come away with great new ideas, and GREAT new friends! Everyone brings pot luck, and you get to eat all day, too! You could also choose to do a white elephant gift exchange, or just a regular gift exchange. People could also bring things they want to sell or trade, as well.
Shout it out... who'd want to join me? If there's enough interest, I'll get the ball rolling!
I'd love to! I will see redbugdriver tomorrow and have her comments on this. It may have to be fall for her though. I will forward your post to her for sure! Thanks for starting this up, Tammy! We can work on dates if there is enough interest.
I'd love to Tammy. I am in the Cleveland area. Medina is not far for me at all. I might even know a few others who'd like to participate.
