Here's mine. I'm bummed that my first one, which I stamped the sentiment crookedly on, looked prettier...but that's life! Next time I am in a stationery shop I'll look for a pencil with an eraser!!HYCCT1425 Bokeh Butterfly
BOY am I ever going to have to get creative and stretch the rules with this one! I have no Gelato and no desire to buy any. Any suggestions on substitutes?
I work today and will be leaving soon but I did watch a YouTube video and copied it's technique and have a card base ready to finish up after work. I hope everyone has a great day!
Never tried this technique before and have decided that I need a lot of practice before my results will look even close as pretty as Lydia's. Here's my first attempt:

Thanks Kelli!!! Awesome technique. I loved it the first time I saw Lydia's tutorial but was a bit disappointed with my results the first time I tried it. Much Happier with today's card! Thanks for the opportunity to try again!
OMG!!! I kept having this song run through my head the whole time I did the challenge technique!!!!
"At the Bokeh....Bokeh Cabana!!!! The hottest stamp north of Havana!!! At the Bokeh....Bokeh Cabaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaana. Music and stampin' was always in fashion at the BOkeh.....we inked our love."
Ok....now if you survived my musical tribute.....such as it was...... ;) Here is my card...I want to practice more and get a better pencil eraser too! LOL
I don't think the background on my second card is technically Bokeh, but I had to make another card to try to redeem myself. Whether or not this really qualifies, I definitely like this card better than the first one.

Maybe smash an ink pad on a plastic sheet and spritz with water to make it softer in color then daub with daubers or an eraser!
LMAO! LEE!!!!! Ladies you all are ROCKSTARS for attempting this for your first time!!!! I too am a Novice, not up to Lydia's level, but GO FOR IT I always say!!!!
A new technique for me- went with the die cut variation- and lots of dots, using SU's Best of Cluck. Used gold sparkly circles cut to size for the tail feathers and wing. Finally I added some ribbon, yarn and washi tape for framing. Here's Best of Cluck

I didn't use gelatos on my card. To color the flower petals, I "stamped" my ink pad on an acetate sheet to pool some ink on it, and then picked up the ink with a damp paintbrush and painted the petals. For the bokeh dots, I just used the erasers like a regular rubber stamp - I tapped them on the ink pad, and then stamped onto the cardstock.

Thanks for the challenge. Well, you got me to use my gelatos! I had a problem with this so I used acetate for my overlay. Not too neat on the dots either! But I did it!!!

Here's mine, but I can't take all the credit. My 10-year-old granddaughter wanted to help. She did most of the work with me just supervising. For a first card, I think she made some very wise choices.
