Challenge Title: It's Time to Step Up!
Hostess: berlycece (Kim)
Keyword: HYCCT1414
Date: Tuesday October 14, 2014
When friends and family struggle with breast cancer, or any serious medical condition, it is often hard to ask for help. Sometimes, we need to take the initiative... to Step Up with love and compassion. This may be shown in tangible practical ways, like helping someone with housework or childcare. It may also be with the less practical, but oh-so-important expressions of love, such as hugs, phone calls..and Hand Crafted Cards!
My challenge to you is to make a STEP Card. Never made one before? Me neither!! I had to challenge myself too! I went through a few more sheets of bermuda bay than I intended! heehee Splitcoaststampers has several wonderful Tutorials...
In the comments of the center fold card, someone shared a link to measurements for an A2 card.
Now...if fancy folds make you nervous, Be not afraid! I made a "step card" years ago (which inspired this challenge) that uses an image cut up, as in stair steps. I included a sample below. Just be sure to Have FUN!

I have to say this challenge really was one for me, I am not a fancy folds kind of a card maker but, I found one that did not look too bad as a diagram and that helped my brain past the OMG you have to decorate all those steps lol...
Oh I did have fun!!! I made this a few days ago hoping I could use it in a challenge sometime this month. I just had to use these mica flakes. Now I have glitter everywhere!!! Thanks for a fun challenge and I used up some more product and stamps that I hadn't used before. It's amazing what we collect but never use
Well, I have some pieces stamped for my step card but I will have to finish it when I get home this afternoon. I hope it doesn't take me too long now that I know what I am going to do!
See you all later!
PS, I guess you have guessed by now that I do my commenting after the DH goes to bed!

Oh! My camera and computer do NOT want to get along tonight! (Just like a couple of bratty kids!) I made a card for this challenge, and cannot get it uploaded. I did take the time to cruise through the gallery, and there are some absolutely gorgeous cards there for this challenge! You ladies are so talented!
I'm thinking maybe I am tired, thus my frustration with the technology tonight. Maybe I'll just go to bed and let these two argumentative pieces of techno cool down, and I'll try getting them to talk to one another again in the morning.
I must say, at first I was a bit intimidated by this challenge, because I had never made a step card before. When our hostess Kim admitted she hadn't either, I took a look at the tutorial...and it was easier than I thought! Now I'll need to make more of these! Thanks, Kim, for the great challenge!

A Great challenge- I have never done a side step card- I used Paper Smooches' A Little Lovin'- and added some texture with corrugated cardboard and rough twine. My frog has some fish friends to keep him company, too! TFL
