Welcome to Hope You Can Cling To - our 5th anniversary... let that sink in a few minutes 5 years of paper crafting to support cancer awareness for friends across the world... many of whom we have never met. THANK YOU, Splitcoaststampers! You are an amazing group!
Cancer is dark and ugly, but this month at Splitcoast isn't really about cancer... it is about HOPE. Hope for healing, hope for a cure and hope for support for the families and friendships that reel in the realization of a diagnosis and treatment plan.
And, hope my friends isn't dark and ugly. Hope shines bright. Even the smallest candle flickering in the dark can be seen for great distances. That is one of the things we love about card making, no? Sharing a spark of light and encouragement with someone who needs a lift? Maybe someone close enough to feel the warmth of the candle flame and maybe someone who only sees the flicker at a greater distance?
My challenge to you is to create a card that uses light to convey encouragement and hope ... a lamp, a candle, a lightbulb or sunshine! Let me see them glimmer and flicker, and shine on, dear friends... SHINE ON!
I look forward to your projects and cards! Be sure and come back here and post a link to what you've done! LET IT SHINE, SPLITCOAST!
And remember, the most important part of this month is the day you MAIL your cards to the ladies at MD Anderson. The rest of your job is to chat, create and have FUN.

You girls are off like a SHINY rocket! What beautiful cards in the gallery already! Thanks for all the support and pretty pieces of paper! I'm so excited about this year's HYCCT!
First card since DTGD. Feels good to be stamping again and for a good cause.
Isn't that the truth?! I always love to get crafty after a little hiatus. It's like therapy... sometimes my husband will say, 'can you just go color something?!'
For today's Shine On challenge- I used a vintage song title for my card- my sun is actually an asterisk dc- and added a butterfly from SU's Nature Walk. Here's You Are My Sunshine

Thanks for a fun challenge. I used candles on my card to shine. I thought three of them would add enough "light". I have tons of these heart brads and they work perfect for flames.

I had fun making this one. It was too boring at first so I decided it needed some gold so I splattered it with two different golds by Lindy's Stamp Gang then added some sequins to brighten it up.
