What the heck? Did Mother Nature catch more than one page when she changed her calendar this week? We were sweating last Sunday and this morning I had to pull out the earmuffs, gloves, long underwear tops and light winter coat for my morning walking tour of the Chicago River Walk. Crazy!!!
Oh well...no matter what the weather, gallery gazing at SCS is always in season and guaranteed to give you that warm and fuzzy feeling we call happiness.
Here are some of my CAS favorites from this past week. Happy Birthday by hskelly What a fun card! Great colors, great layout and perfect balance between the big "happy" and the smaller "birthday."
Season's Greetings by limedoodle Perfect CAS holiday card. Debby's textured stenciling really finishes this card off perfectly.
Letters by YoursTruly Diana really WOW'd me with this one. Great composition, great use of color, and what a creative way to use her feather. (and I love that sentiment, too!)
CAS(E) 93 by LMcAree I always get twitchy when my image is down at the bottom and then there is all that expanse of white space begging me to fill it. I love how Lori used her sequins to keep the feel of a large open white space without it looking like it still needs a little something else. Love it!
Bellarific Friday by AmyR The bright paper piecing looks fabulous on the kraft colored base.
Blue Daisy by bfinlay Who wouldn't feel better getting this beauty by Bridget? Honestly, when I look at that big bloom and I blink, I swear the dark shaded area gives the illusion of movement.
Joy! by abbysmom2198 *** NEW-TO-ME STAMPER*** Linda's card is just darling -- makes me think of all the wonderfulness that Christmas feels like.
Vintage Christmas by Loll Thompson Is it even POSSIBLE for me to do a CAS favorites list without something from Loll? Well, maybe -- if she hadn't posted anything all week. Love the beautiful stencil and script with her sparkly poinsettia and gold sprigs.
Sweet Love by girlgeek101 Audrie kept the card CAS but full of visual interest with her different textures. Very nice!
Frostyby lisa lara I can always count on Lisa to make CAS fun, fun, fun. Love her shaped snowman card with his dapper scarf and sweet heart.
My OCC Copic Marker class has been keeping me busy, so I'm sure there are plenty of great projects I missed. That's where YOU come in. Join me by adding YOUR CAS favorites from this past week. And, hey, while you're at it, leave a little love in these artists' gallery. An easy way to send someone a smile.
Did you find your way to this thread because someone listed one of YOUR creations as a favorite? In addition to saying thank you, we encourage you to pay that smile you're probably wearing right now forward by sharing a few of the cards/projects YOU favorited this week.
Need help linking your Favorites? Follow these easy steps:
1. Load this week's Favorites thread in your first browser tab. Scroll down and click the Go Advanced button.
2. Open a second tab (or a separate window). Go to the Gallery and click on "My Favorites."
3. Click on a card you have saved. At the top, highlight the web address. Hit Ctrl+C to copy.
4. Switch back to the first tab and hit Ctrl+V to paste your link there. Hit Enter twice to add a blank line. Repeat as many times as needed for all your links.
5. Click the Preview Post button and check that your links work. Then click the Submit Reply button.
Thanks, Diane (fionna51), for mentioning my Smile card in your list of favorites this week. It was part of my on-line Copic class, in which I learned so much. And thanks to Karen (kdunbrook) for letting me know.
I had a complication with my recovery, and ended up at the ER twice recently. The first time they missed the clot in my leg. The second time I had an ultrasound elsewhere that caught it, so I got put on a blood thinner and sent home (thankfully I wasn't admitted).
I missed last week's favorites completely, and haven't been able to finish a card this week (I have several in progress but I can't sit at my desk for more than a few minutes).
I'm making up for missing last week with a longer list this week. I apologize to those I stealth-favorited. My cat has taken on sitting on my arm, so all I only have one hand and a thumb free. Hard to comment that way.
Thank you, Diane, for your kind mention of my card. It is always a thrill to find a CAS card of mine on this thread. Thank you, Karen, for notifying me and your kind words with it. Hugs, Sallie
Thank you so much swldebbie and Diane for the mention, very sweet of you!! Thank you so much Karen for the notification!
Have a great day everyone!
Waiting for a flight in Atlanta after attending a wonderful card making event yesterday and just checked my email - thanks Karen for letting me know Debbie listed my card in her faves! Perfect way to cap off a card filled weekend!
Thank you for choosing my Christmas card as one of your favorites, Fionna. I wasn't totally convinced that it worked that well, so I appreciate the encouragement! Thanks also to Karen for letting me know about the post - very exciting!
Thank you so much, Oddesigns, for counting my card as one of your favorites for the week. I didn't have much time to browse the gallery b/c I was suffering from a nasty cold, but I did choose one card to favorite. Pumpkin Patch (FG) by Francie G.
So happy to get a message from Karen this morning telling me that one of my cards is a CAS Favorite! Thanks, Karen, and a huge thank you to Ruthie - a great way to start the week!
