I am pleased to share a bit of early Holiday Cheer with you as we visit "The Christmas Tree Shops" for inspiration this week. They are right on track with plenty of Halloween items available now - perfect for those of you looking to get ahead of the Halloween rush (smiles). You'll actually discover a wide variety of diverse products on this site, plus a ton of new ideas for home decor too....not only during the holidays but for all year long! I'm sure you'll find many inspiring images to spark your own festive creativity this week! Enjoy!
Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today. Please be sure that all of your descriptions have a link back to your inspiration piece available only from The Christmas Tree Shops.
Use the keyword: IC460 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites...so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge.
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Audrie- awesome site, thanks! I was inspired by the bold pattern of the white and blue stamped floral mug and used this cute stamp from SU for my image. Surrounded it with scalloped borders, and a fabric strip. The colorful background is my latest quilt, ready for binding Here's Teacup Mouse

Christmas Tree Shops started here on Cape Cod. The largest one on the Cape is right at the end of the Sagamore Bridge on the Cape side of the canal and is a huge attraction for tourists. It's an interesting building - stone, thatched roof, windmill and view of the canal - looks like something you'd see in Europe. Here is my Sunflower card

I know the exact store you speak of. I was also raised in that area, right on Buzzards Bay!
Hugs,
Audrie

I had a piece of dp set aside to use for Christmas cards, and this rug matches it quite well, so I used it as the background. I was really inspired by the wreath that's painted on the pumpkins, and I knew I had some wooden laser cut leaves that would fit the need, so that provided the focal point.

This was such a fun card - 99% of it was from my scrap bin. I realized after I uploaded that I forgot to erase my pencil line for the mouth. Guess I had better go clean up my scarecrow!

Thanks for looking at my IC card! I combined it with my card for this week's FS, Jacquie, as well as, this week's and last week's WT challenges. It was a FUN card to make!
The Christmas Tree Shop is one of my favorite places, both to look at the weekly flyer and to visit. I never thought to look for a website though, and it was very inspiring. I used two of their paperware designs for cards.
