I had so much fun doing this! I want to do more with all the other elements before we move to the next challenge. I hope I get time! My natural start oozed into some of the other elements, too. I guess that goes with my schizoid brain!

I'm pretty sure I oozed, too. I did okay with earth colors, but then I started embellishing with paint splatters and swirls which I think added a layer of "air" to my earthy card.

Janelle- great challenge, thanks! I started out with earth, but my background spilled into water elements. Did a bit of fire with my magenta tie. I just love this rooster material from my last quilt binding! Added some texture with an embossed panel from my stash which I colored with a green pencil. Finished with a gingham green bow/floss/cord combo. Here's What's Cookin'?

MIX83 Falling to Earth
First attempt ended up in the bin. Still have mixed (pun intended!) feelings about this one. But it was fun - that's a win . Thanks, Janelle.

I feel that this is a earth element design- dominant colors being yellow, green, orange and blue. I did the freezer paper applique approach thanks to my quilting friend Kathy- and stitched this at our ladies' quilting tea today in Bellingham, WA. It will be part of a pink quilt with 1930s materials
