Sue, do you put each folder inside a plastic sleeve or just alone?

I saw where someone wrote the name on the folder with a sharper so she could get rid of all the wrappings. Then she alphabetized them. If there were more than 1 to the set she'd put 1 of... , 2 of ..., etc. I really like this idea.

I just write the name of the folder in the upper corner with a Sharpie and throw it in there (in its correct spot, of course). I'm all about consolidation, so the smaller the footprint of my supplies, the happier I am

I have a couple cute dollar tree cardboard containers. They have cute designs on them, are small and do not have a lid. They are just a little longer than an embossing folder, so the EF fits perfect.

I have not seen these at my dollar tree for a few years though.

binkiemonstermom, this is similar to my method, except I bought 8 x 5" index tabs instead of making them.

I use (and am very happy with) these:
Embossing Folders Organizer 4.5" x 5.75" case folder

I keep folders with like 'themes' (i.e. Christmas, Halloween, flowers (non-seasonal), etc.) together in the binder.

Ditto. I have 6 binders (3 small/3 large). The vinyl pockets tend to stick to the EF....so, I sandwich an embossed cardstock sample between the vinyl and the EF.

I write the name of the folder on the folder and now keep them in an SU wood mount stamp case, the new kind. You can hold quite a few in there!! Before that, I had them in a big zip lock bag hanging on my wall High tech, ain't I? ;)

Default Embossing Folder Storage

I use an Artbin Double Satchel with removable dividers. I only use the divider that goes down the center lengthwise. That gives me both sides to use for folders. I use a sharpie and wrote the name on each folder. Very organized and holds tons of folders. Close the lid and it snaps shut. It can't be turned over by my noses cat and dumped on the floor. Very portable and can be stored vertically or horizontally. Will also hold the 5x7 folders as long as they are on an angle like in the back.

I bought one of these embossing folder binders locally and would not buy again. I would go with storing them in a box like most of the other crafters. I found that some of the plastic "sleeves are very tight and I could not get some of the folders in the sleeve without tearing it. Maybe the Darice folders are slightly smaller than Cuttlebug, SU and others, but I buy them all so this product is made by Darice in may only fit their folders. Also, I have some 5x7 folders and they don't fit in this thing at all.

Love these binders, my choice for storing Embossing folders too! Tip - you can get them for under $15 at Consumer Crafts on line. . Beware when shopping around for them, they come in two different storage sizes -- one that stores the smaller "original" sized EFs (4-1/4"x5-3/4") and one that stores the larger 5x7" sizes.

If you're talking about the binders in the Crafters Companion links that I posted above, there are two different binders: one for A2 folders and one for 5 x 7 folders.

I can fit almost all of my A2 folders in the A2 binder pockets, but I agree that not all A2 folders are created equal 'size-wise'. So, for those few A2s that I have that don't fit, I put them the binder that holds my 5 x 7 folders.
''''''''''''''''''''
To the OP: I have not had any issues getting all of my folders to fit into one of the two binders sizes.

It's compact storage and it's so convenient and easy to unzip the binder and flip through all of my folders.

I only have about 10, so I just use a clam shell from an old stamp set. Works great for me and fits neatly on my repurposed DVD shelf.

Default Darice folders

I set-up mine in the 5x7 Darice Binders.. I found them to be heavy, and the zipper broke on one within a week. The smell when they are new was absolutely toxic. I had to open them in an unused room on the other side of my house and let them air out for over a week. Still had the strong smell. I figured anything that smelled that strong had to be toxic. I trashed all 4 of them.

I then Put the folders in an Artbin Double Satchel. I just ordered the Stamp and Storage Wooden Boxes with lids. I will update and let you know how I like them. Geese it shouldn't be this hard to organize all of these products.

It is hard to see, but under my window I have a drawer systems from Michael's. One drawer is filled with embossing folders and SU framelits and a few Sizzlits. I have my eye on more of these goodies, so I will have to rearrange one of the other drawers to make room for embossing folders. I love having them right next to my Big Shot. Here is a better shot My New Stampin' Space by berlycece - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I absolutely love these storage cubes! It looks like that particular version is not available any more, but here are similar products Carts & Drawer Units

btw...this picture is 4 years old. The room isn't as clean anymore. ;-)

Berlycece, love your room. Those storage units would be perfect. I will look for something similar. I am working on it tomorrow. Let u know what I come up with. Part of my problem is that enjoy several mediums, acrylic painting, watercolor, and neopastels. My Stamp-n-Storage wood boxes for storing dies and embossing folders arrived. Tomorrow I am going to work with them and see how it goes. I know it will be fine for embossing folders, but I have some dies that may not. Hmm. Will check it out tomorrow and see.

Love the big table in craft room.

I must confess that I do enjoy using folders for embossed cards and envelope flaps, and accumulate folders as new designs (and sales) present themselves! I've had luck with storing my folders in the ArtBin satchels (single size). That way, they can be locked, stacked and sorted by holiday/theme/overall background designs. My borders are in a Darice binder, and that hasn't presented any challenges. I can usually get 3 borders in one sleeve. I wasn't diligent in identifying the names of the designs I own, but that's OK with me. I do need to store the odd-sized folders separately in a case because they need to be on an angle. I have scored these cases on sale at JoAnn's throughout the past year. I toyed with purchasing the Anna Griffin sleeves for those folders, but would need a container anyway. This system works well for me. I have also accumulated many $1 clear stamps, and have them stored in baseball card protectors in binders. While it may seem that I am organized with these, the paper collection and storage systems evade my grasp! I thought retirement would help, but I just find more projects and techniques to try! I admit it - I am a messy crafter. Fortunately, I have a home all to myself for this creative process.

Ciocidi, I spent several hours today and put my folders by theme in the Artbin Double Sachels. I used a plastic box with dividers made for card storage for the larger size folders. Only thing left to do is to make Labels for the dividers.

I am retired also. I currently have a craft mess. I am sorting through and organizing it. So frustrating. Why don't the manufacturer of these products create storage containers to go with them. So frustrating reading all these posts where everyone has tried this or that method. Anyways, back to working on it.

Embossing folder organization and storage has been the bane of my craft room to date. I’m eagerly waiting for Jennifer McGuire to post something on YouTube, but until then I’ve stored my A2, the 5 x 7 and the Sizzix Bossibilities in a great product I found at Staples in Canada: Martha Stewart’s Home and Office plastic page protectors. Each page has two storage compartments, and are divided in half. I’ve trimmed black chipboard to fit each pocket and then stored the folder inside. I’m able to get four folders per page. I then attached the Basic Grey small magnets to the top of each flap to prevent opening. I sorted similar themes together and have two large Five Star zippered binders filled, but not enough to make the zipper and binder bulge. I think I will have to give up buying embossing folders in the long run even though I love them! Let me know if you would like me to post a photo of this system.

I keep one in the tree, one under the couch, one behind the stove, one on the roof...
Seriously, I keep them in an old envelope box. Perfect size for them! No particular order, as I like to thumb through them to remember what I have. ;)

(The birds are enjoying the one in the tree.)

I actually bought a few of the storage items from Stamp N Storage a few months back and one of them was the Embossing Folder storage. Here's a pic:
Emboss Folder Storage - Stamp-n-Storage I got the one on the bottom left---without the cover. I have all of my folders (I only have 42 of them) but I also keep my big dies (thing Top Note, I only have a couple of those) plus my magnetic platform for the Big Shot, my paper piercing stuff, etc) I have no problem fitting it all in there plus I still have room for more. ;)

I like this method because I can quickly flip through to see what I have. If you read one of my other posts about if you label your folders, I can tell you that I finished labeling them yesterday with just some white labels that I picked up at Walmart. I wrote the name with a black sharpie and stuck the label on the upper right hand corner of the folder. As of right now, I like this method unless or until something better comes along.

For the A2-sized EF, I use the Artbin double satchel, with dividers. EF are alphabetical. Smaller EFs and borders are stored in the Artbin single satchel. All labeled with my p-touch Brother labeler. For easier retrieval, I made a 1" 3-ring binder with business card-sized samples of each EF (also labeled). Placed these cards in 10-per-page plastic document protectors, thereby holding 20 EF examples on each sheet (front and back). Used categories like: overall, repeating, assymetrical, frames, etc. Now when I want to find a particular EF, simple browse in the notebook and retrieve from the satchel.

I just had to move mine I now have them in a CTMH square storage box...the ones for stamps. They all fit in there perfectly except for one lonely Darice one that is too tall :( So that one is just sort of hanging out in between stamp sets in the DVD holder. I am trying a few different things right now. Loving this organization section of SCS!!!
