Hello and welcome to the Mix-Ability challenge! Our goal is to make mixed media easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
Your projects can be any type cards, scrapbook layouts, art journal projects, 3D pages.
This week, I'd like for you to spend a moment looking back on your life or the last school year and consider all the items you had to patch or patch together to make-do. Maybe you had to do some sewing, too? You've surely been so busy, running here and there. You probably (like me) have a considerable pile of jetsam and flotsam spinning about you from past projects. What to do?
Use those pieces (or make some brand new ones!) to build a little patchwork ode to your past life. I'm being silly, and silly is good. Pooh said!
Please use at least 4 patches/pieces, and they do NOT need to be the same size or shape. You might like to revisit techniques you've recently learned, or use a product that is just magical for you. Have at it!
Please use at least two types of mediums as you are creating your masterpiece. You get brownie points for sewing! Annette Green is the artist who created the third image in our sample panel.

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Fantastic samples and such a wonderful challenge! I'm definitely up for this when I get home from work. I was just saying to someone how inspiring I had found Stacy's closing challenge in DTGD last year to use up some of the scraps we had generated during the week. I love the idea of turning them into a patchwork. But I don't think I can do much planning in work because it will really take some rummaging through the piles on my desk ;-).
Oh Holly! No..... that's just typical. But at least you're all set for DTGD which my desk definitely isn't ;).
I tidied my desk before we went on holidays but I still managed to find plenty of old scraps, plus a couple of stamped images and punchies and had enormous fun making this: MIX77 A Card of Shreds and Patches
My monitor has died and I'm using a different one which might not be properly calibrated, so I hope the photo is ok.
LOL Sabrina! Isn't that the way it always goes??? LOL But I betcha if I really look in the hidey holes, I might find some "patches" here and there. I have the day off work and I am in the middle of going through the piles in the kitchen and the laundry room. I have cookbooks and magazines and printed-off recipes stacked up that I need to go through and find homes for. It's crazy what you can accumulate once you start stacking and then ignoring the stacks! LOL
I had to take a break. The dust and the sheer volume of work was getting to me. Off to check out your card! :-)
I was just thinking about making a card by quilting some tea bag squares onto the background, and then you picked this challenge! My card is done, and fits nice with your theme
This is my first challenge, and my first time posting on the forums. Please be gracious if I mess this up LOL! And, now that I finally completed one challenge, maybe I won't be so nervous to do more. Thanks!
So, I can't seem to add the link because I haven't posted before on the forums. hmmmm
At first I didn't think I would participate in this challenge - just couldn't imagine how to even start. So I went back to working on fall and winter cards for OWH. I have a friend with an October birthday and thought, while I have my fall supplies out, I'd make her a pumpkin birthday card ........ ta-da I decided to make a patched pumpkin. Thanks for a fantastic challenge! Now I know how to use that box of failed back grounds. Here is my Patchwork Pumpkin

I made another one combined with today's IC. After all, I still had PLENTY of scraps out on my desk - and I liked breaking the hexagons out of the full "flower" shape to make room for my sentiment.
