I have a daughter who is a wonderful mother, and a DIL who is a business woman and mother. I send them mothers' day cards every year. I have done sweet, I have done funny. It's hard to decide when one is not very motherly. Any ideas? For wording especially. The children are 16 down to 9.
I read this somewhere..probably pinterest! 'A good Mother lets her children lick the beaters...A great Mother turns the mixer off first!' I don't know why but that one just hit my funny bone! LOL
It is hard to decide how to word cards sometimes. What about something like: "your children as blessed to have you for their mother"; "I am so grateful that my grandchildren have you for their mom"; "I'm glad you are a member of the 'Mom's Club'"; "Mothers plant the seeds of love that bloom forever"; "A mother holds their children's (child's) hands for awhile and their hearts forever".
As you can tell, I tend to lead more to the sweet/sentimental side for Mother's Day cards. However you decide to word your cards, it is wonderful that you send them!
Here is the Mother's Day card I sent last year to all my friends who are mothers. I cased it from somewhere, don't remember, but feel free to copy it, or the verse, which I think is very cute:
Outside: "Mothers are like buttons"
Inside: "They hold everything together"
