Swingline ClassicCut Pro Guillotine Trimmer vs Cutterpillar Pro V3.0

Ladies and gentlemen - please let me know what you think. I'm ready to purchase my LAST paper trimmer. If there's another you prefer - please let me know that, too. I'd like to cut more than one sheet at a time but since that occurs once or twice a year it's not a necessity.

Don't know anything about the Swingline.

Bought a Cutterpillar V3 that was replaced. I still couldn't get a good, clean cut so returned it and got my money back. The paper would buckle when I tried to cut it on both machines.

A friend has Cutterpillar V3 and loves hers

I have a Tonic cutter that I do like.. but I bought a Fiskars ProCision Trimmer that I absolutely LOVE!!! I have made thousands of cuts with it and it cuts just as nice today as it did the day I bought it. I boxed my Tonic up and put it in the storage room, I just find the ProCision easier to use.

I know that's not either of the ones you asked about. I do hope you find one that you like.

I tried the Cutterpillar a few years ago at a friend's house and really did not like it. Maybe the blade was dull, but I did not get a good cut.

I have had a guillotine cutter (SU) for many years and could not be happier. Cuts as sharp as the day I bought it, down to the smallest sliver.

I have the cutterpillar V2 and I wont give 3 a chance seeing as 2 is a piece of junk, doesn't cut straight ( roughly an 1/8 of an inch difference between top and bottom, and even if I line it up on their grid I cant actually get a measurement of something anywhere its an over grown paper weight. And their customer service is atrocious

I have the Tonic version of SU's old trimmer and it works great. There is also a 12 inch platform size of it. I've looked at the Fiskars ProCision one and am considering it since I want another rotary trimmer.

Have you considered the Genesis? Supposed to be the absolute last trimmer you'll ever buy according to reviews.

*sigh* I bought a Fiskar's guillotine (not sure of the actual model). We'll see. I have 90 days to love it or return it.

I don't think I'm happy with this. < 1in cuts are pretty difficult (okay - I do have a mini trimmer, too, but am I too spoiled?) Maybe it's just taking me time to get used to a bigger trimmer.

I have the Tonic Guillotine large base cutter and Love it! I hear you on getting one inch cuts easily...the trick to getting smaller cuts is always use a larger piece of card stock...I know! We all have little scraps we'd like to cut, if that's the case I use my smaller Fiskars guillotine cutter. To me that's an inconvenience I'm willing to put up with to get the nice clean cuts I get with my Tonic.

I had the Cutterpillar 2 and sent it back within 48 hours of receiving it because the paper buckled when the blade hit it. Here's my theory on why some get cleaner cuts...I live in a very humid climate and all my paper is a little "softer" from all the moisture hence the buckling. Idk, I could be all wet, but that's my theory!

One cutter I have not tried is the Genesis ($$$) but from all the cutters I've owned over the past 15 yrs., I have never found one that could "do it all".

So far so good - and I can relate to that humidity. (Just SW of Houston here). When I need tiny cuts I go back to my plastic, broken trimmer.

Have the Cutterpillar 3 and it cuts great. The problem I am having is the grid started wearing off after a couple of months. They replaced it but the new one is doing the same thing in less time. Anyone else have this problem?

I have had my Cutterillar 3 for a few months and haven't had any problems with the grid lines. Sorry to hear you are having problems.
