Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! We hope you're having fun with these! Our goal is to make mixed media easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
This week's challenge is to incorporate printed text, such as an old book page or even newsprint, into your mixed media project.
Remember to use the keyword MIX60 when uploading your creations to the gallery, come back and post a link, and let us "ooooooh" and "ahhhhhh" over your works of art!
Ha! You wouldn't believe how many books I have acquired especially for my card making. I am so in on this challenge - but sadly I have to go to work first.
This challenge was a lifesaver for me. I'm always trying to figure out what to do with the background of all those marker colored images I do. What a mojo booster. Now I KNOW what to do, yay!
So this was a super fun challenge this week. Thanks Anna.

In Michael's store here in the US I've found $1 books of classics (Huckleberry Finn, Heidi, etc.) to use. I married into a family that would have to disown me if I ripped open a decently readable book.

Ooooh, one of my favorite things-I'm with you Sabrina and have PLENTY to choose from in the printed supplies category! We'll get our school day done fast so I can hopefully play along before DH and I leave for a much needed pastor appreciation dinner and overnight stay at a local resort.
I'm inspired! It's actually been several years since I've participated in an SCS challenge, but all the gorgeous works of art I've been seeing by Scrapacat, UnderstandBlue, and others have piqued my interest. I'm heading into DH's office now to steal a book (shhhh...!). Thanks so much for the inspiration!
This has been one of those (okay, 3 of those) days where I have plans and nothing on the list gets done because other 'fires' have to be put out first. I'm sure you can all relate! I am LOVING what I see in the gallery, and the sneak peeks did not do justice to the beauty of the full projects. Oh my! I'm so delighted to be part of this!

Anna- great challenge, I love re-purposing- and I used 2 paper coffee cups with their typed captions for my card. Stenciled 2 trees, and created a sponged sky. My distressed and colored mini panel on the lower left is from SU's Morning Cup set. Finished with a line of terriers- perhaps coffee drinkers Here's Woods Coffee

Was inspired to do an embossed card- dug out my QuicKutz nested heart die set- and embossed the fall campus image of Montana State Bozeman, along with the suggested list of dorm supplies- including Linens. Combined this with a stamping club project I finally got done today- and used 2 different woodgrain efs. Here's College Life - XOXO is for my college age kids

My card is "mild" mixed media as in I used several mediums and mixed elements but it's not "out there" artsy. I used Ranger distress paint, distress stain, distress ink + several design elements.
Thanks for a great challenge. This one got me to do something new (use a real book page instead of stamping some text). I liked it!

I worked today's IC challenge in with another card for this. Our library has a shelf outside for people to pass on books they no longer want, and I have acquired quite a variety from there for card-making, especially foreign-language books.
