I don't know if you knew this, but I live just outside of Seattle in Washington State. Seattle is normally quite waterlogged this time of year, so we're totally used to it. What is quite refreshing compared to other places I've lived is that people in Seattle don't let the rain stop them from getting things done.... You still see people on bicycles, at outdoor markets, and getting along with construction projects, even during rainy periods. Here nothing closes 'due to rain', even the outdoor events! So we learn quickly to just enjoy it!
As a dedication to all my neighbors in the Seattle area who ...keep on keepin' on.... this week's inspiration site has a theme, and it's Rain . Now don't worry, your card designs don't have to include any raindrops, although our inspiration board has TONS of rainy images of all kinds to arose your creative side and to help you express your own sunny interpretation. You'll be thrilled to know that my guest hostess joins us all the way from Australia, and is member of the SCS Dirty Dozen! Cindy Gilfillan aka frenziedstamper has an AMAZING gallery , and has been inspiring all of us since 2010. Watch out for her exceptionally attractive techniques, as it's obvious she loves to play with inks, sponges, and other artistic mediums to create spectacular designs (honestly we are truly lucky to have her join us). If you are not a fan club member - then Cindy will definitely get you thinking about becoming one! She had no problem finding plenty of rainy inspiration on the board, and has kicked off the challenge with two very inspiring card designs.
Challenge Goals: Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it. :cool: Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today .
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from the Rain board.

Use the keyword: IC431 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites (plus one that I found worth a smile!)… so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). I'm going to find it hard making a choice from so much wonderful inspiration, but it should help me get a few more cards made for the Weather Or Not VSN which is on this weekend. Two of the samples I've already made are perfect - but since they weren't inspired by your wonderful board I'll be back in a while with a new card that is.
DH wants the dimensional wall art , I might start with that on a card.
awesome board, as I love rain and umbrella and puddle and cloud images. we're a lot like Seattle, in that snow doesn't get in our way much. we just plow right through it. i hope to be able to post something at some point, busy days ahead for me.

I only have a big teardop punch, so I subbed hearts for the raindrops and made it a shower of love :mrgreen: .
Everyone's cards are truly amazing!! I didn't get much sleep last night cause I'm battling a cold, so I'm going to take a nap. But I'll be back soon to enjoy the challenge and to comment on your cards. Thanks for your patience!

I went a little different on this challenge as it reminded me that I had a Sentiment Stamp about Rain that I loved. I may make more for this challenge as I have oodles of rain stamps too.
Everyone's cards are sensational! I love how we all chose such different inspiration photos! I always look to see which photo the card was taken from, its so interesting.
Thanks Audrie for such an outstanding Rain board. I could go another week on this!
Here is Singing in the Rain ! Went with our VSN challenge really well! My inspiration is the man with umbrella in the photos at the bottom of your post.
