Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! We hope you're having fun with these! Our goal is to make mixed media, easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
Kintsukuroi or Kintsugi is a method of repairing pottery
that is done by filling the cracks with a sticky resin,
then covering the resin with gold or silver dust. This week, use this Japanese art form as an inspiration.
No rules this week - just be inspired by the photo, this art form and its process, or the concept of beauty in brokenness, and represent it in your project.
You can find more photos of Kintsurukoi pottery work HERE.
Ideas:
--apply a sticky medium somewhere on your project, and coat it with a powdered metallic medium, such as embossing powder, mica powder, PearlEx, powdered pigment, etc.
--decorate a panel, then cut it up and reassemble it on a sticky background, with space between the pieces. Where the sticky surface is still exposed, dust with glitter, embossing powder, etc.
--use metallic paint or spray webbing
--use a crackle medium over a metallic medium or surface
--inlay a die cut image with a metallic finish
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HERE for a list of supplies you could choose from. If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy!
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX57) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!

Dina, thanks for a great challenge. This challenge really touched me today. The inside of my card says "cry, laugh- remember...may fond memories be with you always.
My husband passed away two weeks ago today and I realized I am broken right now but I can laugh and cry and still find beauty. Thank You.
