Default Do you clean or put back supplies after each card

I do!

My husband laughs at me, because once I stamp something the stamp gets cleaned and put away. So does the ink pad and the paper after it is cut, gets put away. When I get through with the ribbon, markers, buttons, flowers etc.. all of them get put away too.

He laughs because I just drag them all out again, for the next card right after I finish the current card.

I just can't stand to start something in a messy work area.

Hahahahah,,,,,,um no. But maybe that is why I spend more time looking for things than creating things. There's probably a lesson to be learned here!

its a little of both and today is work desk wednesday ( where you can post and view other people's desks the links are found here:Stamping Ground

and I will do mine later but, I have a limited amount of creating space in the center of an 8' table so most things that are gotten out are put away like specific boxes of colored embellishments. some things stay on the table all the time.
but, each card I make is different so yes, those things have to be put away or I would not be able to turn around.

If I am going to be making several cards using the same stamp and ink, then no.

In my dreams - yes. In reality - never! When my table gets to the stage where I have only enough space to make twinchies, I do something about it ;)

Default I Clean Mine!

I clean mine up after the project is over.
Until it's done, everything's a mess.

I don't....I work best in a total mess...I pull from here from there....when my stamping space gets down to small to stamp I clean the whole mess up and start the process over again...

In the middle I guess. Sometimes I make a bunch (like four) of the same kind of card (for four siblings, with the same theme, so maybe with the same stamps or paper) and then I'll put stuff away before moving on to another theme. But while the theme is going on, things get left out. Then every week I pack up everything and put away everything that was not packed. Then I take the stuff to a friend's house and we stamp. So I guess every week it gets cleaned up, even if I'm in the middle of a theme.

I always clean up after I complete a card or project. I want a fresh start (along the lines of Phantom's 'clean slate').

Sometimes I do a partial clean up 'mid-project' if what I'm doing is not turning out well (LOL) and I need to 'regroup'.

I'd like to clean up after every project, but I usually end up cleaning up the previous project just before I get to work on a new project. That means my space can be messy for days.

Sometimes, when things get really bad, I push the remains of the previous project aside instead of cleaning it up. I don't like working in a mess, so this is not ideal.

There are things I put away after use, but those are things that are stored within reach and don't need cleaning (like the various adhesives, markers, dies & folders). Anything that's stored out of immediate reach does not get put away until the end.

I clean and put everything away after each card.
I have no choice I make cards at my dinnette table

When I am making several cards I would love to be able to leave a few things out that I use on all cards such as my paper trimmer , Cuttlebug, Scor Pal etc .

depends on whether my evil twin (the lazy slob) is stamping or me. apparently, my evil twin stamps more often than I!

Since my play space is also my work space, I have to keep it relatively clean. I can't think with too much visual clutter, anyway, so I have to have things mostly put away. I clean stamps and put them away immediately, but other "stuff" may hang out until the project is over...

I always intend to, and usually do after 3 or 4 cards or when, as Joanne said, I can't fit one more thing on my work top.

I have to clean up after each stamping session. Because I am OCD and I need the space to do other things, like eat.

I usually have several projects going at once so my desk is always a mess! Since I had my box of Valentine & heart stamps out I decided to make some anniversary cards after I made the Valentine cards. And there are still some unfinished Christmas cards ...

I clean up after each project. It is easier for me to create when I start fresh. That is what made VSNs so hard for me, though - there wasn't enough time to clean before the next challenge!

I may not clean up straight after I am done, like the last card I made 30 minutes before leaving the house ...but I will tidy up before I start the next project..until then I close the door and ignore it!

I usually clean up as I go along. If not, then as soon as I'm done with the card. Can't work with a messy space! Thought I was the only one!!!

I try to clean up and put things away as I go but it never lasts long.

I stamp at my dining room table and DH has never once complained about the table constantly being covered with stamping things. (we eat at another table in the living room ;) )

I do clean the table completely off when we are having family over for dinner :p

I figure there are 2 types of people in the world: neat-niks and the can't-be-neat-no-matter-how-hard-they-try-niks. Unfortunately, I'm in the latter group. Wonder if I could get a personality transplant to make me a neat-nik?

BTW, my mother was the former and my father the latter. No wonder I'm crazy.

I'm a hybrid I guess.

When I am in the throes of making a project, I have the proverbial kitchen sink out - stuff everywhere usually to the point that I'm working in about a one foot square spot on my table LOL which is crazy but I guess that's how I roll heehee. As I pull out more and more stuff, the work area shrinks exponentially.

But when I finish that project, I do the whole clean up so that I have that fresh start. Now that I'm thinking about this a little, I guess it's a good thing that I clean up after each project or I'd probably run out of 'table' and have to work on the floor for the next project.

All my supplies are stored in a spare bedroom on shelves and in various containers. When I'm working on a project, usually multiple cards, I gather up what I need for it and bring it out to a game-type table in my living room.

There is just hubby and me and a toy poodle (who can't jump on the table, thank goodness), so I can leave everything out as long as I'm working on it. Stuff can stay out several days if needed, but when I'm finished I clean it all up and take it back to the bedroom where it's kept.

I guess if I wanted to, I could make a dedicated space in the bedroom to work on things, but I don't like being shut up in a room away from the main part of the house. The main part of the house is an open floor plan, and the table I use is close to the TV, the kitchen, and the library where my computer is.

When I am working on a project my room is a disaster. I am the messiest paper crafter in the world. I clean up after my project or when I am done for the evening. I need a clean slate to create again.

I really do admire messy art studios. I think they are so neat. It's like a potpourri of creativity. I just can't do it no matter how hard I try. I am a super neatnik.

Pretty much everything goes back where it belongs once I'm done using it. If I didn't do that, I could quickly be buried in my stuff and then never find anything (it has happened). It took a lot of organizing and training myself to be neater but it works for me now and I don't have to hunt for stuff.

I just can't stand to start something in a messy work area.
Same here, it stops cold my creative energy. And our cat likes to jump up on my work area occasionally, so I can't leave ink pads open, caps off makers, etc. And paper gets damaged if I leave it just laying about.

I'm the same way with the kitchen, bathroom counters and anywhere else I do anything. Just don't look in some of my drawers though, my craft ones are the most organized in the house! Priorities, you know.

I started cleaning up. I tend to lose stuff if I don't put it all away. I keep basic supplies, glue, tape runner, dots, eraser, sanding block ect in a basket. That way stuff goes in the basket when I'm done and back on shelf. Tools like, scissors, paper punch ect are in a bucket. Everything goes back into bucket, so next time I can find what I need quickly. My memory is bad( due to thyroid issues) and won't remember where anything is, unless it has been put away in the basket, bucket or plastic pull out drawers,

OK I pled the 5th but after reading this I must be 50/50. My ink and markers are closed immediately, I have a drawer system right next to my table. My stamps I pull per project and keep them in a box to keep contained. My ATGs, scissors, other tools live in desk organizers that I pull from my pie safe storage onto my table to work ... my biggest thing is things can stay out, but contained for a long time as I tend to work slow and on multiple projects and get distracted...

Gonna hit the table to work today.

That is exactly my system. As long as I have some room to stamp, nothing gets put away!
