Scrappin' Challenge 2014

Can you believe this is our 6th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2013 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2014! Let's keep scrappin'.

It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2014! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...

What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!

Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.

*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.

You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!

The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.

Yeah, a new month with new challenges! I completed 12 pages in January which I think is a record for me!

This month I have a punch art swap due & a scrapbook class too. It'll be a busy month!

Good Morning Friends & Feburary...
I met my goal of 10 pages for January and 25 as my goal for Febuaray. (Between crop & shops, VSBN and getting to go play grandma for a month, I think I can do it!)

I will be attending a crop & shop today... 10 to 4. If anyone would like to join us virtually, I will post details and challenges here as we go along.

Here it is only February first and I have a layout done My goal is 10 pages this month; hubs and I will be out of town for several days around Valentine's Day and Feb is a short month but I think I can do 10. Here's my first February LO:

A Night at the Oscars

I always feel like I'm kinda cheating if I don't do a big labor-intensive title on my layouts, I think that titles are what takes me the longest on any given page. But for this one, the reception invite worked for the title so this one came together pretty fast. I should be working on the sequel next, teehee!

I got 15 pages done in January and I'm shooting for 12 pages in February!

I finished January out with 30 pages which means I'm almost caught up for February too since I need 16 per month for the whole year..... but wait, I have two I finished and need to post for Feb...... and thats not all, I have a charity crop I'm going to in three weeks soooo do I keep my 16 per month??? Sure why not, thats what I would need to reach the yearly goal. Who knows though, this might be the year I do 365 pages??? NOT!

I had one of those days today.... Morning started out good, Went to the crop & shop, not all it was cracked up to be and I only got one page done. Phone started buzzing with texts from my soon to be daughter-in-law, she was in panic mode after a bad nightmare and then my pregnant daughter-in-law started calling, stressing out over when to book my flight to their house. The new host at the crop & shop never stopped talking, I mean never! No challenges, no interaction much between people, no networking, just her talking. We broke for organized 30 min lunch, watched and listen to her talk about all the "pretty" birds in her back yard, then we went back to our scrapping spot. I was so not in the scrapping mood at this point, so I packed up and came home... :(

We did our shopping early this morning and then this computer sucked me in once again!
So I finished the Festivelo pages- it took 17 pages to document those 3 days, that is a bit crazy!
So today, for Feb, I am at 8 pages for the month. Here are a couple of the pages that I really liked for the photos.
I can only hope that I can go back and get 2012 scrapped in Feb-but it may take me into March to get that year finished- at least I have all the photos organized.

I am so sad that you had such an experience. I hate it when I do something I plan to enjoy and then find it so irritating that all the fun just gets sucked out of it!!

Annie, that sounds like the crop from :twisted: .... the page you did finish is very pretty!! It's too bad some people like the sound of their own voice so much, I find in a lot of places there is more talking and not enough listening!!

Oh Anavon, wow that stinks! I'm sure at one point you just wanted to stand up and ask her to be quiet....or scream shut up, LOL. The page you finished was lovely, too bad you'll groan every time you look at it and remember the crop.

It's snowing here and I hear Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow for 6 more weeks of winter. Figures this year. It's snowing here again now

Well, it's Super Bowl and I'm usually scrapping so I'm off to finish some class work so I can get busy.

I'm not sure how all of you set your scrap page goal as I really haven't figured out a method other than random, LOL :rolleyes: I realize that I travel less in the first quarter and seem to have more scrap time so perhaps if I work on getting more pages done Jan-Apr it will even out in Sept-Dec when it seems I'm gone a lot and not time for craftin'?

So I think 16 for this month and we'll see how it goes ...

I didn't do any scrapping in January, don't know what to set as my goal. 5? Since ther ia VSBN, maybe I can do it. . I noticed just yesterday with the banner at top that VSBN is same week-end as VSN. I will try to do both.

Fortunately VSN is just the mini that Friday. I was bummed because we submitted dates early and nothing was on the calendar at the time the VSBN dates were sent in ... I thought it would keep us from scheduling on the same weekend? What's that quote "about the best laid plans..."

Speaking of which, if you could all go "LIKE" the post on Facebook, it will get the word out for VSBN Also will be on the home page this week

Yay! So I finished 5 pages in January and I hosted a crop Saturday at my house and completed 4 pages, so my goal for Feb is going to be 6!

I had to click on the small arrow on the right for 'more' and there it was :-). I also was able to share on my timeline for my scrappy friends to see.

Wow! I can't believe its the 5th already! I guess I've been a little busier this month than I thought. Feelin' a little behind the eight ball. I exceeded my goal for January with 22 scrapbook pages, but only got a couple of cards done. Can't wait to get going on the challenges for this month. Will shoot for 11 pages again this month!
I checked out the VSBN on facebook (and under the challenges)...haven't done it before and won't be able to participate in this one. :(

How do they work...
Do you usually stay online for these?? You can stay online to chat and scrap or post your pages during the week
Do you post pages as soon as you finish them?? Some do while others post them within the week usually allotted

Hi Ann...Sometimes I can't make it for all the days of a VSBN but we usually have about a week to do challenges and post the finished pages. So even if you can't be there for the times when the challenges are posted, you could still participate at any time.

I just clicked on CanadianKristen's blog to see how she's been doing and with a heavy heart, I ask that our scrapping family here keep her and her family in our prayers. I just read that on Saturday she gathered her children around her to let them know she was not going to be going home from the hospital where she has been for over 3 weeks now. Her journey has been very courageous and she's been extremely positive throughout this battle.
