Standard Expectations for a DT member: I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 8:30 PM-10:30 PM (ET). You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. When the season is ending and a new DT search is going on, I would like you to help with the judging, especially in the final round.
CAS Spring Design Team Schedule (March - May 2014)
Guest Designers: Instead of choosing guest designers right away, I'll be choosing them weekly like I have been from those stampers participating in the weekly challenges.

TIP: This is a contest for CLEAN & SIMPLE. I tend to push the definition once in awhile with my own cards, but when judging for the design team, I lean towards the conservative cas designs.
Advice: Please remember that everyone who participates wants very badly to be on the design team. The reason why I started the guest designers was so that more could get involved. That said, there will always be disappointments. Please remember it also comes with more opportunities. This happens every 3 months. Four times a year is great for this type of event! To do it more often would be too stressful. These events take a lot of time and I love doing them. And it's easier and happier when everyone is a good sport. I do this for YOU! (In fact, the cas challenge was the very first challenge to have a design team!) I want as many people as possible to experience being on the team. Some people may have to wait longer than others, but waiting builds perseverance and strength. Please have fun!!!
Photos: Please remember the clearer the photo of your card is, the better it will look. Make it stand out and make us say "WOW!" Photo software programs have editing options. The most important ones for me are the lighting and sharpness or it may be called tone curves and clarity features.

CHALLENGE #1: Get wild and crazy with animals!
I know you may think your kids are wild and crazy, but they don't count for this challenge :p For this challenge, use either an animal image or an animal print on your cas card.

CHALLENGE #3: Ways to Use It (Ribbon)
Wild animals usually have multiple colors and some have stripes, spots and patterns. Use patterned ribbon that has 2 or more colors. (Striped, gingham, dotted, etc.)

Oops, I just saw where I wasn't supposed to combine this with any other scs challenges.
Sorry...does the turtle love still count?
The reason I made the rule is because people were combining the technique challenge that occurred on the same day as the cas challenge and too often it's not a good mix when trying to keep it clean & simple.
I don't think this has ever even come up before because I've never had a DT search challenge start on a Monday. Because it is still a CAS challenge it was combined with and I want as many people as possible to join in, I'm going to let it be okay.

I almost had a panic attack trying to pick two of my favourite CAS cards from the gallery....LOL. I was really going in circles. I finally decided on these two beauties.....although I honestly could have chosen any one of the CAS cards in my faves.

Here's my card for challenge #2. I love all-neutral cards! My monitor isn't showing some of these well- it looks like a couple of them are mauve-tones and I just don't have those in my paper or ink supply. So I stuck with the browns that look like colors I do have.
I'm here for you - I kept getting smudges on my nearly finished card until I figured out that ink had transferred onto the plastic part of my paper trimmer. :rolleyes:
The hardest part of this challenge for me was picking two of my favorite CAS cards from other stampers. There are so many beautiful CAS cards out there!
