Hello and welcome to another Mix-Ability challenge here on Splitcoast! Our goal is to make mixed media, easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal, instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy!
My challenge today is to build up 3 or more layers of mixed media product to make your project. Ideas include: paint, torn paper, gesso, pastels, texture paste, embossing, colored pencils, markers, stamps/ink, almost anything except for cardstock. I want you to enjoy finding things that deepen your layers and love for mixed media.
Here are a couple of tutorials in the resources section here on SCS to give you some ideas:
Have you considered starting an art journal? If you have questions or would like to share your 'fears' of art journaling, we'd love to help you. Do you have questions about a specific product or process? Post them here!
Here are some samples for your muse to consider:

Well, I tried the acrylic batik yesterday and it didn't turn out anything like Dina's, though it did remind me of real batik. I'll likely punch it into flowers and make another layered background to put them on. Thanks for a fun challenge to think about while I'm o work this morning.
Oh I hope your shoulder gets to feeling better, Dina. Hugs! (At least your in good spirits from that patch while you recuperate.)
Thank you! I lifted and carried something wrong yesterday (huge stalk of bananas) so that's what hurt me. My stomach's hurting too, so I'm a bit of a mess! Slept a couple hours, and made myself some tea... my head's not so heavy now! He warned me, but wow... that really knocked me out.
Sabrina, what was 'off' about your acrylic batik? Just curious.

I started this yesterday - but all that stuff took time and we were out last night, so I only finished it off this afternoon. I had fun. But I always forget that once you've painted card with acrylic, it's MUCH harder to diecut. So I had to move from plan A to plan B.
Thanks, Ky!!
