I bought one early in the year and I think it was ranger. I don't remember for sure if it was in the ranger packaging. I'd been using an oven mat that I bought locally. I actually have several of those. The ranger craft mat I received in the mail is a little different (heavier) weight and texture. It feels more substantial and I like that. I noticed it has the rounded corners rather than the square ones on my oven mats. It seems to lie flatter when rolled out than the oven mats do, it doesn't seem to curl on the edge, I assume due to the slightly heavier weight. It is a bit darker than the light colored oven mat. I also have a black one and I don't recommend that color, you can't see your inks in it. I had to use the black one to the oven! I've kept the lighter colored oven mat in case I craft with others. I store both rolled into a paper towel tube.
I noticed that there are several vendors who sell this under the listing. Perhaps there was a problem with a particular vendor?
The good thing about going through amazon is they have great customer service so if there is a problem they will take care of it.
