Melissa, you have sinus surgery every 5 or 6 years?!?!?! I am so going to count my blessings every time I blow my nose with this sinus crud. That is awful!

As to traveling with a dog, it does make things much more complicated, but it's doable. My personal experience has been the smaller the dog, the more likely people are to let you bring it over. My grandmother lets people bring their dachsunds and terriers and bichon frise to her house (begrudgingly) but not bigger dogs. Hotels often have a weight limit of 40 or 50 lbs. I'm not sure what we'll do the next time we go to IL to see Jeff's dad. Either plan all our hotels out carefully, board him, or pay my mom to watch him. Cats are lots easier!

And my only other thought is to just consider if you want a puppy or an older dog. I have always wanted a kitten or puppy, they are just so stinkin' cute! But a puppy is a LOT more work than an older, already housebroken dog. Either way, enjoy it!
