Christmas Card Challenge 2014
Post your monthly goal (how many do you need to make) here on this thread, post your monthly cards on each appropriate thread.. Links below in the next post.
WHO: Everyone that needs cards for the Holidays;
WHAT: Complete Christmas/Hanukkah cards (Thank you cards, tags or whatever you need) each month (January through November) You can set your monthly goal for however many you’ll need. There is no score keeping here! It's all for you and helping you stay motivated.
WHY:To relieve stress! This way you’ll have plenty of cards to send out for the holidays!! We all know how busy December can be, so why not try to get your holiday cards all done by the end of November! Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make your life easier.
WHERE:First upload to your gallery then post a link in the designated thread*.Please use CCC14 in the Title or Keyword so that others can search for your cards!*Please use only the thread that I start for each month or you might be missed.
To attach a link here, when the page you want us to go see is open, go to the address bar and 'copy the whole thing' then go to where you want it seen and paste it in the post box. ( step by step instructions with pics in PDF in the below... I made that back in 2011, kinda neat to read again)
WHEN: The whole month! There is no 'deadline' for getting your monthly cards done. This is just a motivational challenge to help you!
HOW: Just post a reply to this thread saying that you want to join, how many cards you will need to do each month and then start creating! Make your cards any way you like - make them all the same or mix them up. Any tools, toys, gadgets, embellishments, etc...you decide- after all, these are YOUR cards.

Resizing
if you use Kodak Easy Share DaisyDude shared this info.
For those using Kodak Easy Share:
Click on the pictures you want to resize.
Go to 'File' and choose 'export'
Choose a place to save your pics.
Choose the option 'Specify Size'. The limit for SCS I think is 2048 pixels.
Then hit 'Export'.
You should then be able to upload the resized pics to SCS.
iPhoto is similar. Choose your pics, hit 'export' then use the resize boxes. Neither height nor width can be larger than 2048.
From mustlovecats ..... upload from a Mac and this is what I do.
Open your photo, click on the background of the photo so that Tools appears in the bar at the top. Click on it and then on adjust size. I change the first size to 5, save and then voila it's perfect for uploading.
Not too difficult and I did pretty much the same process when I used windows before

Hi Vikki,
I've posted a January challenge - thought I'd start with that one in case there are people eager to make cards for 2014 before the end of the year!!

I always have the "BEST" intentions of doing Christmas Cards throughout the year, but it never has happened yet. I'm working on 100 cards, I have three steps to go, my goal is to finish so I can get them mailed out by the first weekend in Dec. Wish me luck!! ;)

I'll do at least 10 a month. This is the only way I can get enough done for my fundraiser in November and my own cards!

I'm in  but, I am not sure how many I think I should be doing yet... 6 a month turned out to be not quite enough this year because, I made some for the booth and some for me and some of what is left over are cards I really don't actually like. or dont have a person in mind to mail them to so they are going to be seed stock for next years booth I guess. ( I made a lot of lets use this stuff up things this year...)

Oh yes, put me down for 5 again. I am about to start doing my Christmas letter to put in with my cards. I have to get them mailed in the next day or two, hopefully before everyone send me cards. Since I have just moved I want them all to get my new address so I don't have to wait for them all to be forwarded. I still have lots of address changes to make. And still have to finish unpacking. Now that my stamps are unpacked it's harder to keep unpacking everything else. I want to stamp instead. It helps keep me sane!

I haven't quite completed my cards for 2013 yet, but I love this challenge so much I want to commit to 10 cards per month for 2014.
Thank you, Vikkijo, for your wonderful words of encouragement. You are absolutely the most perfect hostess for this challenge.

Somehow I got all the cards done by 11/30, but I was terrible about keeping up with the challenge this year. So, hey, I can only do better next year, right? At the very least, I have a plan of attack in my head. So sign me up for 4 cards per month for 2014.

I'm in for 2014. I think I'll do 10 again, but I'll make the final decision after I see how many (if any) I have left over this year.
I'm going to use trees as my theme for 2014.

this sounds like a fun idea!
I would like to do 2/month
Can you please clarify, do the months have themes or do you just post whatever you made that month (lets say Jan) in the January thread?
Thank you

The months do have challenges but you don't have to do them, you can do what you want. Then post in the thread, or link to your gallery, whatever you'd like!

Ok, having started writing my cards and finding a stash from last year, I'm going to lower my monthly goal to 3 cards. And I'm going to make them flatter - most of this year's cards would need extra postage so I'm hoping to hand deliver them or include them when I'm posting a present too!

Thats my goal next year, to make smaller cards that don't cost extra postage, I tried this year but failed on most although I did cut down on square ones for posting as they cost a fortune to post from here.

Well, you said we could take a month off now and then...this year I took 10 months off and made them all in Nov. Oh, well. At least they're done!
I'll get them posted soon, I promise!
Anyway, sign me up again this year. But I really only need 2-3 a month.

I just finished mailing my cards, and I added a few names to my list this year (my cycling team keeps adding new riders, so I keep having to add names). I have just enough left over to give to coworkers in person, and then keep 1 of each design for myself.
I think I'll keep my quota at 10 for next year, but may have a month or two where I make a few more, just to be sure.
