Happy Tuesday and welcome to this week's color challenge. It's #452 on the charts for us. I am your hostess this week and decided to repeat something I did as your hostess back in August.
First, we have our color challenge favorite from last week. Nancy had trouble choosing just one because there were so many really creative and beautiful cards using so many styles and occasions, But, she finally chose Marie aka momof5sons and her Christmas Amaryllis .
Nancy said:" Marie, I loved your gorgeous color combo for your beautifully colored amaryllis. I was impressed by your ribbon and twine treatment too. That is something I really struggle with to get just right!.
Congrats Marie. the code to add the badge to your blog is attached below.
Now onto this week's challenge. I am choosing 5 colors and you can pick 3 to work with or use all 5 of them. Just let us know which 3 you have chosen.
We are also running a contest for the next 2 weeks. See all the details below
Are you ready for an islandbaycabanainsmokypool?
the colors for CC452
island indigo bermuda bay coastal cabana smoky slate pool party
Dessert: this week is a buffet-you chose your own and let us know what it is.
Contest Details: How would you like to be a guest designer with the color challenge team? Or would you like to be a guest hostess with a 4 month term?
All you have do is play along in this week's as well as next week's challenge. And you have to do the dessert option for both weeks. The team will select 4 winners as guest designers. Two (2) of you will guest with us in January and two (2) of you will guest with us in February.
The grand prize winner will be a guest hostess starting in January and run through April.
This week's challenge card has to be in the gallery by Friday, November 15. Next week's challenge card has to be in the gallery by Friday, November 22. We will notify the winners by November 29.
Please keep in mind, too, that while we list SU colors for the challenges these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to be able to play!!!
Please put CC452 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card! If you need help uploading click here .
The designer paper is gorgeous. And having all the colors makes it easy. I know we don't have to have the exact colors, but that is way to many colors, similar to each other, to find substitutes.
So my question: For people without these SU colors, can we just use a traditional 3 color system by choosing 3 colors that are similar

Never mind... I freaked out before I read everything. I will just choose three. Sure wish I had that dp though ;)

Thanks, Mary, for the wonderful color challenge! I love these shades, and I needed a card for my DH who loves sailing. I used SU's Riveting set for my sentiment, and a dc compass- along with some dc buttons and black screen material. Diagonally paper pieced my larger background, and added some sparkle thanks to my stamping friends Here's Sea Compass

I had fun making another card- went with some nice greens and a grey- complimented with blues. Added a stamped and sponged bunny, and a great sentiment from my SCS friend Diane. Here's Kind Words

I love how the challenges at SCS always inspire my favorite creations. I love how this turned out and I especially love that it literally took my hubby's breath away when he saw it.
Mary, I am fashionably late but totally loved this combo. My sister has a birthday and I needed to create something anyway, so this was the result. I'd love the chance to guest hostess now and then in the New Year. Thanks for your commitment to keeping this challenge going week after week.
Just checked this color challenge out and realized that my card from this morning matches all of the criteria, so I added it to the challenge gallery :-)
