Challenge Title: (Subway)Art with Heart
Hostess: Ashjoy aka Joyce
Keyword: HYCCT1329
Date: Tuesday, October 29th, 2013
Hello everyone one and welcome to the (Subway)Art with Heart challenge! Subway Art is simply any art you see on the street that isn’t graffiti. Think bill boards, kiosk signs, the sides of busses ect. All you need to take this challenge is a piece of subway art as your inspiration (or you can use the photo below) and of course to put a little of your heart into it! If you choose to use your own inspiration piece please be sure to link it in your description and tell us how you used it.
This is my inspiration piece.
And this is my sample.
And here are a few samples from this years HYCCT designers.

I wasn't sure where to go with this at first but then just looking through my book of stamped images gave me my idea. I made my own word/phrase collage.
If someone doesn't have any stamp that would work, could they print your inspiration piece and use it? I did that at first and loved how it came out, but then I wasn't sure it was okay. I still was inspired by your piece and all those words lead me to this: HYCCT1329 Survivor by muscrat - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
g'morning, mine is a digital "free printable" thing I came across on pinterest a very long time ago and had printed out at that time... there is a link to it on the post.
Well I definitely don't have any stamps to fit this challenge......
My first thought was Subway sandwiches...then I thought of the subway of halls underground at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester...
Not sure what I'll use other than pink background paper...and the pink breast cancer logo die...that I haven't used yet that I bought on clearance specifically to use this month...3 days left to use it!!!!

Joyce- great challenge! I was inspired by Old City Hall in Bellingham, Washington- with its intricate architecture, warm brown tones, and historic character. I used PB's Uplifting for my stamped image, and did a sunburst effect as my background. Added a heart fabric midline stripe and a loopy double ribbon border. I LOVE the subway art trend! So totally enjoyed doing this challenge! At first, I printed off a free printable (link is in my description of photo) And here that card is:
then since I felt like I cheated I made my own 'subway art' , LOL! Just grabbed a bunch of different stamp sets, picked out sentiments I liked and stamped away! Here it is:
I was inspired by the colorful "pop art" style mural in downtown Bellingham, Washington-
I went for a tropical theme and used a brightly colored floral card, along with polka dot dp and purple fabric- here's Wild About You

Subway art is just for inspiration, you can choose anything you like from the inspiration piece. It can be as simple as the colors, the design, making your own collage with stamps or printing one from the Internet like I did. The most important part is to have fun and enjoy the process of making a card for an awesome cause!
The link for the gallery doesn't seem to work. Here's the message I get:
Sorry, we came up empty on your search terms. Check your spelling?

Here is my card for subway art. I Googled Friendship Grafitti and went from there. I have added the picture of my inspiration.
