Default New at starting a thread.

I have posted questions a few times and never get a response. Is it because my question is boring? In the wrong place? Or am I doing something wrong?

I see only two threads of yours with no responses.

This one: Need help embossing with dies. by estamps at Splitcoaststampers about embossing with dies has been up for less than an hour. Not everything is answered instantly. It's also a pretty vague question. For example, it would help to also know what dies are you using? What machine? What sandwich in your machine?

This one; Embossing rubber mats by estamps at Splitcoaststampers on embossing with rubber mats also hasn't been up for very long.

You put both of them in the techniques forum (one in the tutorials forum) and neither of those are where I'd put these. They are more a general question or should be in tools/products, in my opinion. The tutorials section is, I think, where people post actual tutorials. And I don't think either is as often viewed as the general or tool forums.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response and advice. I know these have been up a short time, but it am also referring to past posts. When I see view numbers, but no response, I thought I was doing something wrong. I will try more details thanks again.

Have you been back to visit some of your old posts? When I checked on yours, those were the only two I saw that had zero responses.

I usually read the board just by surfing on the main forum list. So, if a thread is up as the most recently posted thread in a forum, I see it on the list. Sometimes I will click if the topic is interesting. ( So maybe that means "write compelling thread titles." ;) )

But it also means that if someone posts another thread in the forum, then that thread will show up on the main page, and people who read the board the way I do won't know your thread is around in the other forums. One thing you can do, if a thread has been up a while with no response, is to post a reply to it-- that brings it back to the top of the forum and will cause it to display again on the main page. A lot of times you'll see "bump" or "BTT" (which stands for back to top)-- that's what is happening, people "bumping" their threads up to the top of a forum.

I will say that I do usually go into the General Stamping Talk forum to look at the list of topics, so you might have better luck just posting in there. I think that it might be the one that gets the most traffic. That one and the swap and sales forums are the ones I view most often, but for sure swaps and sales aren't the right homes.

And sometimes what happens is that you'll post something, and it won't get any replies right away, but later someone will be browsing around in the forum, find it, reply to it, and "revive" it. So don't give up on your threads!

(PS: I don't have any tips for the die cuts, or I'd have helped with those!)

Emily is right - General Stamping is where most people hang out and chat about general issues, so I moved your threads there
