Question What's your favorite felt for die cutting?

I bought a bunch of felt from Michaels because it was cheap, but when I die cut some flowers with it, they just looked, well, cheap! My mom said they looked like something from the Dollar Store. Gee, thanks Mom. lol! So I donated the felt to my teacher sister, and I'm researching the prices and qualities of felt. So far, I'm considering Papertrey Ink, My Favorite Things, i {heart} papers, Ellen Hutson, and Giant Dwarf on etsy. Are there any others I should consider? Which is your fave for using with your dies? Thanks!

I love PTI's felt, I have about 10 colors right now. It's the perfect weight for die cutting & comes out with clean cuts. I love them for flowers, clouds, grass...the list goes on. Buy 1 roll & see for yourself, I'm sure your going to love them & you will be buying more. Good luck.

Hi Rita, thanks for your reply! I've heard good things about PTI's felt, the only thing stopping me is the price and their reputation for bad customer service. :(

I've bought very nice felt on Etsy. There are lots of choices there. Here is one I've used:

I too have a lot of felt from PTI. It is wool I think which is a better quality than what you get at Michaels....I hope I have that right. Anyway, it is the nicest quality that I have found.
blessings.

I have had good experience with 100% wool felt from the fabric store. It cuts like buttah! Hugely different from the acrylic craft felt which leave lots of strings that I ahd to go back thru and snip. But harder to find in colors unless you go on line. It hunk the issue is the fabric content - the more wool the better.

Thank you, Bugga, Amber, holtzfan, and karjor! I really appreciate that you took the time to share your experiences. It sounds like 100% wool is the way to go no matter where you get it. I'll have to call my local Joann's and see if they carry felt. I think I will give PTI a try as well.

I'm open to any other suggestions, too!

I've been buying from PTI for about 5 or 6 years now & I order on average about 3 times a year & have never run into a problem. I have heard that some people have had problems but it has never happened to me.
